Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Should make him play in the reserves. I know players have some leverage but downing tools because the club won't sell him for cut price is poor.
Sounds great and without PSR they could, in a world of PSR though they can't, unless they want to play with no striker.

Isak isn't on250k p/w. He is on about 70k. Still a good wage but for a player they value at £150m?

Apparently Staveley told him they were upping his wages. She left and he was then told they couldn't do it. I'd be shocked IF any of the top 6-8 club in the Premier League can't afford to pay their star player the going rate.

Didn't the 3 year period for PSR reset during this summer? I get that there is a knock on effect with other players in the squad. Every other club finds financial loopholes when they need it!
They could have gifted him the women's team then bought it back for £200k p/w! lol

Anything to not put Liverpool in a bad light, right? They’ve tapped him up and now he wants out, the scousers are predictably defending his behaviour yet when it’s one of their own they have a different stance.

Where did I defend his behaviour? I know I have done the opposite of that in multiple posts.

I am just sharing what I heard, a Newcastle podcast type person, talking about the other day.

Nobody knows a premier league players' true wage. They are confidential. Curtis Jones on £15k pw.

There is no chance Isak is on 70k/week. Its probably twice that, but he could obviously earn a lot more somewhere else.

Will he get booed at every ground he goes to now if he dos join the scousers and vilified by every pundit and reporter out there.

I seem to remember when Raheem Sterling left the scousers to join us that was the treatment that he got and was accepted as normal by everyone for the way he behaved...

I wonder if it will work when the shoe is on the other foot...I expect not
If the move doesn't happen then the media will paint Newcastle and their brown owners as the bad guys, denying Isak his dream move to the biggest and bestest football club to have ever existed. Isak will appropriately be painted as the victim.

The fact Isak has seemingly spat his dummy out, and if he genuinely is refusing to play (therefore breaching contract) will be brushed over.

No-one in the media will dare to call out Liverpool for their tapping up tactics, in the same way the circumstances surrounding the Van Dijk move was forgotten about.

Ornstein tweeted:

Alexander Isak adamant he will not play for Newcastle again. Even if window closes without exit 25yo views #NUFC career over + no wish to reintegrate. Club say not for sale but exploring market amid Liverpool interest & striker wants #LFC

You may well be correct. Just what I heard. The point was more about the 250k comment.

He could earn more elsewhere, he could earn it at Newcastle, with a new contract and a release clause.

He has been a bit of a 'dick' it appears.

Plenty of people on here accusing Isak of not being loyal because he has a contract etc.

But then you have fans on here who want Guardiola gone from City, after all he has achieved, because we had one poor season.

Fans are just as disloyal as players. When it suits them, they're happy to kick anyone out the door.

Fans aren't being paid many thousands of pounds a week and MOST fans are not disloyal at all if they think a player has behaved poorly calling them out isn't like cheating on your wife.

Stop it with the thumbs up I have got a bigger bedspread nonsense.

It is a bit naive. It happens at all clubs at all levels. The media could likely tell you a 100 different stories with evidence everyday.
The VVD situation was a cluster fuck. One of our owners, Tom Werner, drunkenly declared to the press, we had got VVD. This was before we had even spoken to the club.

We ratted out ourselves.

My comments were more on a player wanting to leave in general, despite a contract, rather than their behaviour which I agree is poor.
