Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Balotelli peaked during Italy vs Germany in 2012 + he was lazy. Not a good example.
Yeah but even a bad Balotelli could still put them away, he just stopped running or even moving

edit: got distracted by Balo talk, Is Sav even for sale, is this on? Have seen conflicting reports since waking up in 'merica so looking for some concrete

We won't get anywhere near 85m, if he goes it will be around the 55m mark imo
Even though I don’t rate Savinho that highly, not to say won’t in the near future but I’d be mighty pissed off if we sell him for that cheap to them letter writing cunts.
That club and the rest of the red cartel wankstains have tried to ruin us.
Add to that what other bang average players are fetching it’d be idiotic.
At the very least it’d better be £70m.
Fuck Levy and fuck Spursy.
I get business is business but a punch in the throat works just as well imo.

He scored three goals all season.
What’s that got to do with not getting any better?

He’s 21, he’s 5 years away from his prime and last season was first in the PL. Although he only scored 1 goal, he set up 10 goals.

Rodrygo, who is 24, and rumoured to be spending £70m on if we get him, only scored 6 goals and got 5 assists last season in a much weaker league. Same number of goal involvements as Savinho but Savinho also had much better stats across the board (apart from goals scored).

I reckon Savinho has much more potential than Rodrygo.

According to the ITKs Pep only likes Rodrygo.

We'll see Saturday right enough but calm yourself - we will evolve ;-)
I fuckin hope so mate!

I know we need to wait for the season to start to be sure, & there's the argument over "ones for the future" vs experience (albeit ageing & injury-prone), but loaning out recently acquired talent is galling enough, but selling them is totally gutting.

Is a 24 year old Rodrygo really a better long-term option for City than a 21 year old Savinho in his first season in a new country, playing in the toughest league in the world?

I've seen enough of Savinho to believe his ceiling is much higher than we've seen during our turgid season just gone. I suppose we'll find how things will pan out soon enough.

Trouble is there seems to have been a problem with Sav, I think it's basically down to his profligacy with chances and lack of work off the ball. Pep and his coaches appear to have had their minds made up for them with his reaction to Spurs' overtures.

I was watching a podcast yesterday, & one of the presenters mentioned how glum Savinho's looked since the CWC.

He's played a part in most matches, but I did notice his dour demeanour myself. My guess is something's been ongoing since then. He never smiled when he assisted or scored which I found a bit odd, even after that howitzer of a goal he scored.

As I mentioned earlier, the ball is in spurs court now. Either they come back to us with a serious offer, and I'm thinking £70m with add ons, or Savinho asks to leave, or it's dead in the water. We're actually in a position of power here for once, with the small caveat that Pep wants his team raring to go now with no exceptions - focus on City, or leave.

Given we play spurs in late August, I don't expect us to warm to their advances until late in the window, so it will remain a possibility, but it's up to spurs now whether they advance this or not.

There is one other possibility, that Pep doesn't fancy Savinho after a season up close and we see the opportunity to upgrade. But I don't believe that, we'd have moved things well along by now given the task handed to Viana for the summer.

Certainly showed in the Palermo game, he's been putting a lot of effort into looking publicly miserable recently
- I think they may have even almost completely air-brushed him out of the Inside City Palermo Special ;-)

Never a good sign. I just assumed he had IBS or something...

I think Phillips Akanji Ortega and Stones should.

How do you mean our own doing? As far as I'm aware City don't want to sell.
We probably don’t ‘want’ to, but we’ve accumulated too many players, so if we’re unable to shift more experienced servants, then we’ll have to sell someone else, and Savinho has the black spot.

I think we should keep Savinho because I feel he'll become a very good player. I'd fuckin' hate to see him smashing it in a spurs shirt. If we sell I hope it's to a foreign club but I hope we keep him another season. If he doesn't improve this season then maybe consider selling.

Not sure about that:
