You’re welcome to scroll through my contributions in the season ticket threads to see that when I feel the club and their partners are ripping people off, I’m not afraid of calling them out for it.

With these buses I think the price is fair and the service is excellent so credit where it’s due. I can only comment on my own experience I suppose.

No idea about trams to Ratcliffe. I don’t think I’ve ever been to Ratcliffe. And this isn’t a thread about the various Metrolink failings, of which there are a lot I agree!

RaDcliffe RaDcliffe! Lol. Nowt to do with the rag fella.

I agree it’s not about Metrolink but how do I explain the difference in costs between the tram and bus when explaining why I don’t think it’s good value? I have to show my workings.

Anyway, I know nothing will change. Nobody has ever cared about RaDcliffe getting a fair deal. Personally I just can’t wait for Sandhills to get built. That will be my route to the games in the future.

It’s a great addition and a much needed added convenience, but in terms of bus fares it’s not particularly fair.

The Bee Network has £2 fares for any one way journey and £5 for a one day ‘Hopper’. In London it’s £1.75 for any one way journey and £5.25 for a day pass.

In relative terms, £8 return is expensive for a bus journey.

I can understand there being a premium for a direct bus service, that makes sense, but to then not charge that premium for pensioners means that it’s all being subsidised by full-fare passengers.

That said, once the new stand and facilities are open after the games I will likely go back to the tram anyway.

The bus timetables will be updated in due course, I just wanted to let you all know on here as soon as I had any information as I promised I would at the end of last season. Once the timetables are live I will drop a message on here to let you all know.

Hello, was it you from the supporters club I spoke to last season. I did actually question the Warrington route again the other day, but looking at the data they weren't sure if it would be used by enough people. If you feel like it would be well used and you can evidence it anyway from the supporters club I would be happy to keep trying to push this for you. The only issue is if it is set up and not used by enough people it will just get pulled. If it was up to me I would drive round picking you all up, but they just need to make it cost effective to run the services.

I know what you mean, but it’s not a bus that goes up and down the road 10 times an hour taking two quid off hundreds and thousands of people all day. It’s a chartered coach.

Everyone’s different but I don’t think the price is too out of the way in the grand scheme of things.

I object more to the price of tickets to the match and the price and standard of food etc in the ground tbh!

Noted. Not sure if it's possible to combine with other locations en route to the stadium. Irlam, Patricroft & Eccles would make sense. I'll gauge demand at the next SC meeting and let you know if the numbers are there.

Then why not let everyone pay the same price, FOC go for free, I pay £8 return yet someone who gets on at the next stop pays £6! So why not make everyone pay £7? I’m not knocking the bus it’s great and the way we have someone on hear listening to us is great, but they knock it down a £1 for me that’s a saving of around £30 for the season.

This service is a bargain and a brilliant addition to the inevitable pain in the arse that is getting to and from a very busy stadium.

I got this bus a couple of times last season. Both times the bus was on time, clean and modern, and completely hassle free way of getting to and from the match. My only complaint is it got stuck on traffic on the way back but hey that’s not their fault.

Brilliant service that is much needed and seems is rightly appreciated by a lot of blues.

Well said. The service to Sale was absolutely rammed on the couple of occasions I used it, it's a popular addition to the transport options and should be encouraged,as well as the fantastic interaction on here from @matchdaybus

As we roll into the new season, I wanted to share the latest on the Matchday Buses. After analysing all the data from last season (including what many of you told us directly), we have made a few changes to improve things:

The X services have been removed due to low usage except for MC9X, which has been super popular, so we are now running it on both weekday and weekend fixtures, which should make life a bit easier for those relying on it. We will keep reviewing how things go and will adjust as needed throughout the season.

In terms of stop changes:
  • Removed Stops:
Longsight on MC4

Moss Side on MC5

Trafford Centre on MC9X

Harpurhey on MC12

Newton Heath on MC14
  • Added Stops:
Davyhulme on MC9X

Tottington, Greenmount & Whitefield on MC12

Central Park on MC14

Rochdale on MC15
  • New for Express Services:
MC101 and MC102 has now been renamed as MC16 and MC103 is now MC17.

Piccadilly Rail Station has been added as a new stop to MC16 to make it easier for those of you that come through the station and there will also be a hospitality bus for the MC16 route.

Everything else remains the same, with most buses sticking to their usual routes. You can still pay on board for regular services, and Express buses (MC16 & MC17) can be booked via the MCFC website as usual.

The TfGM website will be updated in due course with all this information, but I just wanted to give you all a heads up. Always happy to answer any questions, and I really look forward to chatting with you all more this season and seeing plenty of you at the Etihad.
