Such a sad reading and a great way to advertise your intentions to future prospects
What’s sad?

I highly doubt Trafford was naive enough to believe he was going from Burnley to starting at City with no competition.

I doubt this is actually a goer but does seem to have legs.

Yes, I'd weep for the fella who probably tripled his weekly wage
What does wages have to do with anything?he could have earned the same elsewhere.

He’s wants to develop and can see a pathway to our first team. This signing completely blocks that.

Can`t disagree matey, just a bit of a strange one, having signed Trafford, but as you say when something like this arises it puts transfers on a different level.
If anything comes of this we can honestly say that the club are right in having a big clear out, as fans we knew it had to happen.
Exiting times before the window closes.
Have to feel for Trafford somewhat as I'm sure he's thinking he'll be No.1 when Ederson departs, He has a bigger job on his hands if this transfer goes ahead.

He seems a confident young chap and believes in himself so I'm sure he'll take on the challenge if I arises.

Again, timing in football shows it huge importance, the harsh reality in football is players come and go and clubs wants success by what means necessary.

All of this might not even happen and Trafford could be starting on Saturday and continue as our No.1, fuck knows.

We want 2 top keepers like before and competition every day.
Trafford will be well aware he has to fight for the shirt.

Hope it's Donnarumma, Tafford, Bettinelli.
When have we ever had two top class/ first choice keepers? Where one doesn’t end up wanting to leave.

There’s friendly competition and pathways for keepers, but if we spend 50m on a keeper he will start pretty much every game.

Trafford will have no pathway to the first team and will have to accept being a bench player. Why would any young keeper accept that? At least with Ederson you could see the opportunity to learn and slowly work his way into the first team.

Absolutely not what we need. Not a Pep player, not a massive improvement to Ederson when it comes to saving, poor with his feet and would hinder Trafford’s development. Plus would cost a pretty penny.

Plus if he’s been playing top flight since he was 16, how many years of his best do we have left?

I’d genuinely be fine with Trafford & Ortega.

Not many teams pressing us now they all just stand on the edge of their box. Not as much need for a keeper who is great with their feet?

PSG won the treble with Donnarumma and Pep likes how they play.

In a way this could be typical Pep….wait for the World to copy him and then do something else.

Don't read this as I want PSGs cast offs for a start - I'd rather we swerved the lad.
I doubt signing Donnarumma blocks Traffords path - just means they've both got to compete for it, I see that as a positive.
Negative - Trafford gets benched and he's off again after 12 months.
'Tis the way of the game these days

He’s the 2nd best “pure” goalkeeper on the planet imo. Only Courtois is better.

If the 2nd best player on the planet in any position becomes available, as a club at the top table, with aspirations to return to winning PLs and CLs you don’t fuck about, you get him signed.

Trafford would’ve been in a battle for the No1 spot so this changes fuck all for him he’ll just have to be a big boy and crack the fuck on.

It's been a mad few days, very different to our usual approach. This one does seem to be picking up momentum, and can't say I'd be unhappy with it as he's a top goalkeeper. Obviously nowhere near Ederson with his feet, but I'd feel a lot more confident with him in nets going to places like Anfield and the Emirates.

Would be nice if people were writing this stuff about our keeper for a change -

But Donnarumma is a bit of a drama queen, he won't ever like getting benched, and it feels like a waste of Trafford because he's not going to become a world class keeper playing once a month. Look at the difference between Ortega when he arrived and at the end of last year. He went from being a every match keeper to a cup keeper and his level plummeted.
