I mean, for sure we can't go into the season with Ortega and Trafford as our keepers.

Donnarumma feels a bit weird though, like a strange fit? Almost like Haaland, someone so good you have to sign them if they become available, even if they don't really suit the way you play.

Bizarre how someone who many on here think is a liability with his feet managed to help his team navigate their way to being CL winners, beating the likes of us, Liverpool, Inter and Villa along the way.
A keeper normally kicks the ball to one of his ten team mates who are better with the ball at their feet.
Some of our better goals have been scored via a big hoof up the pitch

Hope not but we’ve also seen it a few times the other way
They will be making enquiries or will have done for sure because a keeper is a problem position for them but I think that if City are all in for him then he comes here. I think he's definitely moving.

Pretty obvious were all this is leading...

"Donnarumma turns down City to join United"...

We've seen it all before, Berbatov, Sanchez, Pogba, Maguire ect...
Dont know how realistic this is but TH on X is saying that the club could be playing a bit of a game here and that bidding for Donarumma (or making it known that we are supposedly after him is forcing utd to go for him now...utd want a keeper and they also want Baleba (we also want Baleba but not till next year) - utd cannt afford both Baleba and Donarumma now so by forcing them to get Donarumma now paves the way for us next year to get Baleba

The same goes for rodrygo, if players of this caliber are available, you have to go for them.

That sounds a bit fantastical to me. I think he already knows where he's going.

You can't teach a keeper to make saves. I think that's more of a reflex/instinct.

Footwork is something that can be coached. And it's not as if Donnarumma can't pass a ball.

He was excellent in the champions League for PSG. He single handedly won them at least 3 or 4 games.
He won them games because he's probably the best keeper and best penalty stopper in the world. I've nothing against him as a keeper, far from it, I'm questioning whether he's good enough with his feet for a Pep team and I don't see it.

Ortega is decent with his feet for a keeper yet causes us issues when he plays, not least because attackers know to press him into rushing. No one bothers to press Ederson, as he'll make you look daft whilst simultaneously taking half your team out of play with a pass injury midfield. Donnarumma is a definite step down from that, I'm not convinced he's even as comfortable as Ortega, so we can swap to him, but we would need to change style and not pass it around the 6yd box

Don't see it with United. They guy has just won the Champions League and now he's going to go to a team who isn't in Europe at all next year and doesn't have any recent pedigree at all to say they can get there in the near future.
