It's Quiet the £250m return

He won't shoot 2% again, that's almost statistically guaranteed.

He scored 9 goals in la liga in one year.

Even last season he had 52% shot accuracy. To score only 4% of those is almost unrepeatable.

Simply way more than 1 in 41 shots usually goes in, via deflection, keeper error whatever.

99th percentile for dribbling, key passes and assisting (that's pretty good)

He’s got no power in his shots, that’s why they are on target & saved. Lovely footballer but shoots like a kid playing men’s football.

I agree with all of those, especially the big man missing last season but Savio really couldn’t hit a barn door. I’ve just been told 2%…… that’s 1 goal every 50 shots….. fucking hell.
It can be improved, but it was his first season. Sterling took about 4 seasons to really hit form in front of goal and he was already used to the country and league.

The whole style of play last season was appallingly slow and laboured, which made defending against us much easier. Many of the shots from all players were into a forest of defenders’ legs and bodies, so there was precious likelihood of hitting the target, let alone scoring.

That’s nonsense mate, some players just can’t finish unless you think we should bid for the spotty number 9 from the Rags.
He scored some very tidy goals for Girona. You can view them all here:

Like @NQCitizen mentioned, statistically he's just as likely to manage something in the middle of the two extremes next season. And he's only 21 years old, it's likely he continues to improve in general.

That was much the same for David Silva when he wore our shirt, though put him in Spanish red and it was somehow different. Never understood that.

He looked very unconfident in his shooting by the end of last year, that I do not disagree with.

Anecdotally I remember him having a load of shots blocked by the massed defences and it looked like it played on his mind.

I’d love to ge proved wrong but I felt he was out of his depth. However, I have said in the past don’t judge players on their first season.

Exactly! Confident Savio is a force. Will be one of the best players in the league at 25 and it better be here.

Right we can’t continue if you’re going to disrespect David Silva ;)

I do agree Silvas finishing could have improved but he’s not in the same conversation.

There’s a lot to be said for abandoning the inverted wingers bullshit. Everyone in the league has sussed it now
There’s certainly a case to be made for greater variety, especially switching over during games. We should be identifying the weaker fullback and preying on that one.

It played on my mind, I had no confidence in his finishing. He has to deal with that, it’s why they say best finishers aren’t worried by misses.

David Silva was on loan at Celta Vigo at Savinho's age.

I feel like people don't get how good he is for 21.

A shit conversation rate for just one year before he hits 22 isnt that much to hold against him.

next 3 weeks feels like eternity transfer wise. will be a bit flat now if we end up with no new incoming players despite I was almost content a week ago that we are done and only have some outgoing business to be done. :)

Absolutely. Get him a bit of shooting psychology and a bit more general steel (which will just come as he ages) and he's an easy 20-25 G/A season guy.

If he goes to Spurs it could be just like handing them their own Hazard, because they can afford to let him develop.

I think the anomaly was the season at Girona, I’m just saying if the club has Rodrigo or Savio decision, it’s an easy call.

He was in the very top tier of players for dribbling, key passes and assists for us.

If he hadn't had so many awful misses, say he just got 5, we'd be rightfully discussing him as a 100m guy we need to keep at all costs.

That said, Rodrygo is one of the better replacements we could get.
