I want to hear the thoughts of all those people who were adamant Trafford would only come here to be number 1. They were largely silent when he come back seemingly to play number 2 for at least a year with a workable succession plan ahead of him to the number 2 spot.

With the improvements being made by Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, starting our season with Trafford as number 1 would’ve been a huge risk. Signing Donnaruma makes our squad the best again in my opinion.

2 out and 2 in on keepers, one being the best in the world and the other being homegrown and potentially the next England and City number 1 when the time comes is a huge coup.

Trafford will have been briefed, perhaps given the number 1 as proof that we seriously see him as our future number 1 and in the meantime - play cup games, win trophies and learn from the best in the game… I think it’s still a great move for him.

Also City were pushed into the Trafford move as Newcastle were buying and we would’ve lost the clause… city clearly see that Trafford will be more valuable than the fee we’ve paid.

If the opportunity comes along to sign Donnarumma when your keepers are have 1 year left on their contracts you have to take it.

City fans should be very happy / nervous.
