Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

All day long. Time to ban some of these plonkers
I don't know what half of them see mate. I really don't.

Half of them probably moan about Ederson letting goals go straight through him, whilst watching Donnarumma on a Wednesday night make class saves.

But Eddie can pass a ball 50 yards and get a couple of assists a season is the answer.

That’s… terrifying.

Depends how you look at it. He prevents a damn sight more than he causes.

But he will absolutely change a fundamental part of how Manchester City have played from the moment Pep has walked through the door.

The guy is obviously an incredible keeper and I'm all up for the team evolving but I don't know how comfortable I am bouncing from one extreme to the other.

Been reading Enrique's explanation. He says Donnarumma is a fantastic goalkeeper and even better person. But PSG need to improve and he's implying that someone with better feet will help.

Now if we are going to get the ball forward quicker, play to the strengths os Marmoush, Haaland et maybe it's not an issue.

Sorry, I just don’t understand why we are signing him. (If true). Are we completely changing our way of playing from the back? He has been left out at PSG because he can’t/wont play the distributor with the feet role. ( A row about it has been reported.) PSG obviously don’t think his shot stopping makes up for the lack of feet. Do we think the opposite?
What the fuck is going on?
Oh, by the by, someone on here challenged my view that players were now mere commodities. If we buy Donna, what does that make Trafford?
I expect @twosips is doing his nut! I’ll check.
PS I have checked at Esteemed Kompany. It’s fair to say that @twosips is somewhat conflicted. He said he was not going to lose any sleep over it. A likely tale.

Mad that Enrique doesn't think he's right for PSG but Pep think's he is right for City, given their similar approaches to Goalkeepers being able to play with their feet. Maybe we will see a shift in approach, can't see it though.

PSG have signed Chavalier who has been told he will be No1.

Donnarumma contract up next year and been told he aint getting a pay rise is pretty much where we're at.

The only issue issue I have with this is that we're one of the worst teams in the league without the ball.

Our backline is nowhere near good enough to absorb the pressure a direct play style would cause and our midfield solidity relies entirely on a player who hasn't been fit for almost a year.

There’s a really obvious explanation for signing Donnarumma when we already have Ederson, Trafford and Ortega.

Ederson will be playing in midfield.
Ortega to right back maybe - or perhaps Trafford can play there for height at set pieces and balls to the back post from the opposite side?

He has been left out because psg believe Chevalier is better with his feet, not because Donnarumma can't/ won't play the distributor with feet role.
