I might sound even more cold hearted but I'd be happy to see an end of the minute's applause and silence for people who have died at each and every game full stop.

Once a year around Christmas is fine, make it 5-10mins before the game if you have to, just feels a bit unfair to single people out when not everyone gets that same appreciation.

Appreciate that this would be done at Wolves on Saturday, as he used to play for them, but it really isn’t needed elsewhere IMO.

I’d expect our fans to be very respectful.
But why Andre Silva?

A bit unfair to single people out ? Do you mean to recognise Jota or single out those making noises during a moment of silence ? Either way I can’t agree with you.

I’ve got no issue with a minutes applause or silence whatever for Jota - it was a horrific event, he was a current professional footballer and this is the first round of competitive matches since……i’d find it more strange if they didn’t do this on the first weekend and I’m sure his friends and family would too. Yes if they did the next match etc….then yeah we can’t keep doing that for the same bloke forevermore but that’s not going to happen is it ?

Unfair to single out anybody who has passed away, ex player, fan, club staff etc... It should be done at Christmas for the respected clubs people were involved with. It's becoming an every week occurance and only certain individuals get them at not others.

I just dont get why recognition at Christmas isnt enough. This is back-to-back games for Wolves now, after they did it for Gary Pierce at the end of May.

However, David Woodfield who died at the start of May who has played over 250 games for them didnt get one.

It's the same at City too, not just singling Wolves out.

I think the difference for me on this one with Jota is that he’s passed while at the peak of his powers while still playing and all the players in the league will have had dealings with him. Fans of all clubs who attend will have watched him, it just feels right to show respect for this one in particular to me……died so young with such a young family - it’s horrendous and so feel like it should be acknowledged…..maybe you’re right for those players retired many, many years ago etc…..but Jota is a different case for me.
