Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

I think this is the route me and my brother are going down - are there any recommendations for cheap bobby basic burners with Google wallet?
For reconditioned (£40 upwards usually with return guarantee)
Backmarket
Music Magpie

For second hand (£5 upwards but god knows the condition)
Ebay
CEX
Cash Converters

You’ll have to check the specs though, must have NFC and whether it works with the new gates, you won’t know for certain until you try it. The iPhone seems to be the most consistent so maybe a cheap 2nd hand one of those might be best. I used to have a Motorola that didn’t work with the old turnstiles despite having NFC.

My guess is that response is incorrect. Hope I’m wrong but if an email is still produced with the ticket attached then that could be sent to anyone which goes against what the club are trying to do.
I wasn’t totally convinced but this reply seems pretty unequivocal.

Spoke to a lady from the club today on the phone. She told me that whilst you can have a season ticket on 2 phones, the other person won’t be able to use it as it’s not in their name.
She said, for safety and security reasons we need to know who is in the stadium in case of an emergency, if there was an emergency and it’s not ‘you in the stadium’ but your card is used by someone else, they would be looking for you.
I said why have the rule of 2 phones the? She said it was because of carers and different parents going with children (which to me is the same thing as their name wouldn’t be on the ticket)! Correct me if I’m wrong but only one name is associated with one season ticket!?

As for flexi golds, she told me for a game to count towards the 10 to renew or the magic 16 to be able to upgrade to gold, you only have to purchase the game, the phones doesn’t have to scan in… this is interesting news as I thought it had to be scanned in. She said theoretically, you could buy 10 and not turn up to any as long as they were purchased!
I’m sure our friends at Viaggo and other ticket agent scammers will pass on the names of the people they have fleeced 0-)

Utter bullshit, what about all the day trippers, they won’t have their names, anyone from City reading this your a set of twats why not come out and say you dont want us legacy fans.

Has anyone heard from the club ref. gaining entry to The Etihad with a non NFC smartphone ?
It's now about 8/9 days until the Spurs game, and as it stands I will be unable to get to my seat with my 15 month old phone.
I was assured by the ticket office that an alternative method of entry would be provided to those that needed it, but not heard a thing at all from them.

I have emailed them several times saying I've a Huawei phone that doesnt support Google. They tried to fob me off until I sent them screenshots. Since then, they have referred me to 'Mobile Ticket Services' and I have heard sod all.

Wonder if those football clubs/kids that play at the academy & take a game in have to go through all this rigmarole to see a game?

Non-seasoncard query….

This season i am getting the Mrs & my daughter a membership (adult & Junior)

Now the Mrs will have her membership to her phone/e-mail address, i take it the junior membership can also go to her mobile/e-mail address so they both can get through the turnstile on the same phone?

Any advice would be great

Cheers pal, it looks like you are in the same situation as me then.
It's going to be interesting as to what happens when I approach the new turnstiles next Saturday morning.
If I have any problems getting in, I think I will be on the verge of jacking my season card in, like a lot of other people on here.
Really poor service from City these days.

You could try getting an Android smartwatch with NFC but of course it’s more money to layout.

I can’t vouch for it though as I’ve never used one.

You know what pal, that may be a very good idea.
I've got dozens of watches, but I've never been bothered to get a smart watch. I use Google pay via my smartphone, and it mentions that the watch uses NFC capabilities to pay with Googlepay .
I'll see how I go for the Spurs game and then if I have a problem,I will give the watch a try.
Cheers for the heads up.
