Biggest ever crowd at old toilet
Wolves v Grimsby :)
I was at a ‘do’ and some random person found out I was a City supporter, straight in with ‘115’, I just laughed and then commented that they were allowed to support Trafford rangers as they lived in Trafford. Took them awhile to understand ‘Trafford rangers’. Also asked why City were extending stand… yawn. I proceeded to detail various shenanigans of their club - Liverpool vs United match fixing,2 sugar daddies, Manchester central being shafted by us (‘who dey?’) to make United survive… which led onto City’s highest ever crowd (‘no…’)… and the all time classic fishing hook for deluded United supporters… ‘so your largest crowd ever at Old Trafford, who was playing, I bet you’d never guess’… many guesses later, I say ‘wolves’ and then the coup de grace … ‘and the other team , guess ?’ Cue confused face…and then blind disbelief as yet another fact rolled out that they don’t even have the highest attendance at their own ground.

Albeit I was … very… very… drunk, and said it was Hull… oops.

Well it was 1939

But the weird thing is it'll probably be a sell-out. Hundreds and hundreds of mindless lemmings clad in fake replica shirts that scarcely conceal their alarmingly prominent abdomens. Gazing open-mouthed like extras from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, pointing for no one's benefit at the dimly lit stage when the family man himself walks on. An ocean of sweaty, unwashed Neanderthals periodically mumbling the phrase: "Oh My God, Oh my God" to themselves over and over again like a dynamo-charged Stacey Solomon, simply because some grey headed wanker on the stage used to play for a club they have no affiliation with.
Then next day at the special needs school, they'll all sit huddled together under the watchful eye of some morose-looking **** who looks like he used to be one of the Homepride Flour Graders (ask your mum) who was probably thrown out for trespassing into Camberwick Green and buggering Windy Miller.
And they'll discuss what a fantastic night of fun it was, paying best part of a hundred pounds to listen to a man with all the charisma of a cold cup of tea droning endlessly on about 'Mannschnite.'
Role model for kids?

Away against Grimsby in the 2nd round of the Carabao Cup ! Bwaaaahaha!
How the mighty have fallen.

Grimsby will be very disappointed that their decline in recent years has seen them end up with such piss-poor opponents.

And something dodgy must be going on, for the rags to be drawn away.
