Let's see if they win another champions league with a better kicker
Chevalier looks pretty impressive!

I bet you he is good with his feet though!!

I don't doubt for a second that he has an enormous say in what goes on but he doesn't have full autonomy in my opinion.

If he did then Van Dijk & Maguire would both be playing for us
As I said, Khaldoon and Soriano sign the checks and the Van Dijk one is public to see with the three of them discussing the price

I think that's exactly what Pep is doing. Preparing for the transfer of power. I think this is his last season.

He signed for 2 years just to make sure it doesn't become the distraction talk all season.

I believe once the season is over hed take a sabbatical. Go to the World Cup as a pundit and just chill until his national team job materializes..
I didn't think that, but it's possible and makes some sense, in which case we'd know now and proably who we want to take over.

Guardiola is very likely to be gone in 18 months, possibly earlier if we don’t put up a proper title challenge this season.

At what point should the club stop signing players to fit a particular, very distinct system, and begin to sign top class players who can play and flourish under a variety of managers?

Indeed, the club may already be signing players for Pep’s successor.

I don’t think this is true I don’t think anyone comes in that pep doesn’t want. I do think this is very likely Peps final season though whatever the end result is. For me it was obvious when he talked about his renewal he said the 2 years was partly because he’s sick of being asked about his contract situation for months. Whenever he leaves City, for this reason imo it will be a year before his contract ends on paper.

Also the speculation from Germany about Wirtz not getting assurances about peps length of stay - i don’t think any player could expect a guarantee of more than 2 years so if true presumably he didn’t get that. Also apparently Ljinders was also told 12 months is all that’s guaranteed.

Got a horrible feeling we’re about to see him agree terms with Chelsea

Nah I don’t think so. They’ve gone pretty strong on the fact they’re rewarding Sanchez for his performances at CWC. I think we are firm favourites if Ederson goes. I know they’ve supposedly ruled themselves out but the rags are the ones imo if the ederson situation either drags on too long or he ends up staying.

So that means that Pep doesn't have full autonomy. They're a collective and they make decisions as a group but ultimately Pep has to go with what Khaldoon & Soriano say. So if we're signing Donnarumma it's because Khaldoon & Soriano have signed it off.

Doesn't follow they would recruit a player against Pep's wishes, in fact that just wouldn't happen now if indeed it ever did.

Very true, his best ever game for us was in Istanbul, our MOTM
The saves he made in that game appear to many to improve with each passing week.

The Lukaku save hit him on the knee, now that was good positioning for sure but he didn’t actually move, he made a decent 1 on 1 and he stopped a dangerous cross/shot at the death but literally none of the saves were more than a 7-8 out of ten and if I’ve missed one then let me know.

Compare that with Hart against Dortmund or Barca and it’s not even remotely close.

He played well but wasn't mom, the one near the end was a cross rather than a shot
