Rodrygo

We shouldnt fear them though and do the right business for us? They would just sell to someone else and get the money anyway and it does seem we would be his first choice.
There aren't many places they can get 90 million from besides us. There are only a handful of teams that can do that type of transfer and a chunk of them aren't in the market.

We just have to be extremely careful about doing business with Madrid given they are one of our main competitors for the Champions League. Thankfully the folks at the club will understand the risks.

If you would have told me a month ago, we could sell Savinho and McAtee to basically fund a Rodrygo transfer purchase I would have been a yes with no hesitation.

We realistically have 2-3 years max with the best manager any of us will see on the City sidelines for the rest of our natural born lives.
If Pep wants him, by all means go out an get him Hugo.

Rodrygo as we all saw unfortunately in May 2022 has that it factor in front of goal for the big moment, that this squad desperately missed last season.

More weird logic on this thread.
It isn't weird at all. Madrid is our main competition for the Champions league. We have to careful about taking a player that is surplus to their requirements in return for money they can use to strengthen their squad. It is a complicated deal with multiple layers.

Since Cherki took the #10, thats mean Rodrygo isn't coming
There was enough talk around the time we bought Cherki that he’d take the 10 when grealish left just had to wait, the club even put out a statement saying some of the new signings will change numbers in regards to purchasing new shirts. That’s never happened before.

Cherki was guaranteed the 10 shirt.

Doesn't really matter. Somebody will buy him (or other players) and thus they will have the money regardless of who pays it.

I think Rodrygo's attitude has a lot to do with that.
Feel so too.
Never forgot a 2022 BBC article about Ancelotti's and his son's psychological approach:

I'm not a Rodygo fan and never have been and I hope we won't throw big money at him after our very mixed experience with Jack.

Have the feeling Hugo sorts out the self doubters (I won't name them) and looks for players who always believe to win / to score.

The Justin Roses if you like and not the Tommy Flleetwoods (I' like him very much, my point is just mental strength and confidence).

According to Florian Plettenberg, Pep Guardiola’s City have reignited their pursuit of Monaco winger Akliouche. The 23-year-old remains Leverkusen’s “dream target” this summer, but the Sky Blues' entry into the race adds fresh competition. Valued at €70 million (£60m/$77m), Akliouche is seen as a cheaper alternative to Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, who could cost around €100m (£85m/$109m).

Immediately denied by City yesterday
