Well Rodrygo has 4 goals and 2 assists against us in 9 games so I'd argue not having to face him anymore would be a huge plus for City regardless who they end up signing.

Using that type of argument - maybe we should have signed Son, or perhaps Rashford????
Still a hard pass for me - especially given the numbers being reported
I'd rather we signed a first choice RB - but that's not happening either.
Let's see what Pep can conjure with what he's got - minus the 3/4 outgoings we still need

Exactly, no wonder he wants to come here. Boyhood Barca fan as well. All these posters with their stats need to look closely at the context, he also passes the eye test when you watch him play. In addition to all this there has been a flirtatious element between him and Pep in the media which reminds me of the city pep charm offensive prior to his appointment.

You don’t get the prima Donna thing? What about Vini and his big sulk over not winning the Balon D’Or? What about Mbappé and his demand for outrageous wages and control of team selection? Jude and his entitled, disrespectful nature on the pitch?

You can argue he isn’t as good but you can’t watch him play and say he isn’t an upgrade on Savinho.

There is a big difference between doing the business against us for one premier league a season and knocking us out of the champions league on an occasion that really matters. Son would have done well for us.

I agree. I don’t really get this transfer. I think whilst having great moments, overall he’s not been amazing for Madrid.

I’d rather just stick with savinho and turn him into a world class player. It doesn’t feel like a city signing to me or at least very different to the type of signings we’ve made previously

I'm not totally convinced that he is that much better (if at all). Both have the potential to improve and it is difficult to know which has the higher ceiling ultimately.

You’re right about potential, that is the unknown factor. Both have an ability to work the wings but Rodrygo can finish and that is ultimately what makes him an upgrade on Savinho.

This is not logical. If we believes he improves our squad and is worth the money paid then that advantages us over Real Madrid if we buy him. We are the winners. But if we decide not to sign him then we are weaker, someone else’s who buys him is stronger and Real Madrid get their money anyway. We are the losers.

He didn't play in any of Madrid's games in the month of May, so we would be taking a player that wasn't integral to their squad by the end of last season while giving them a significant transfer fee. I say advantage Madrid in that scenario.

(If there is some evidence he was hurt in May please correct me...but I didn't see any)
 
I'm all in for this signing, hope we go for him.

I do think Savinho could turn out to be top and has potential. But this is an upgrade for me. I think he could be 15/20 goals/assists wide player, much like when we had Mahrez/Sterling/Sane chipping in.

Gives us a bit of x factor as well.

We had so few goal threats last season and dont see Savinho really getting big numbers next year..think with Haaland/Marmoush and potentially Rodrygo, we have 3 players who should be really scoring fairly consistently.

Hope we're making progress with this as it sounds like Savinho and his agents are really pushing to get his move done.

What control of team selection? Where did you get that from?
Mbappe literally has a similar contract to Haaland. Are you talking about PSG? I mean not his fault when he is the face of France and PSG was trying to do anything to keep him from moving to Madrid. There‘s stuff like that in the NBA and NFL too I doubt anyone there has ever said sum.

It was mentioned as if the „ prima Donnas“ were the reason why rodrygo doesn’t perform. He literally didn’t when it was only Vinicius and him.

Why?

He's a striker that's not as good as Haaland and it's unlikely they'd play together. In Haalands worst seasons and injury hit seasons, he scores the same as Isak when he has the season of his life. We dont need Isak.

Rodrygo is a more versatile player that's proven he can cut it at the very highest levels and win champions leagues. That's the players we need.

If Haaland gets injured, we only have Homer (Marmoush). I'm not sure he's the answer, but with 2nd season syndrome kicking in, he may take a giant leap on what he's already done. Love his movement. As for Cherki, man, what a baller. I can't wait for him to drive forward at Wolves.

Isak isn't coming to city to play second fiddle to Haaland. And we shouldn't pay over £100m for someone to do that.
