Will we win the league this season?

I think it's the most open it has been since Pep arrived, but it's Pep with a fully refreshed squad and a point to prove. The man's a genius and will have us set up again, he's got another major trophy or two left him in.
He's got more than 2 in him xD. I'm not so scared of being a few points behind Liverpool but if you guys are top come Christmas I'd already be expecting not to win the league. Only Pep's City could cause that level of deflation.

Liverpool obv favourites but we will be better-and if Rodri can return to his best we may go close.
Pool have an aging Salah and VVD. No Trent to bail them out against tight blocks or pick a ball in transition. Konate head might be turned with RM. Alison is injury prone now? Salah also off to AFCON this year? If Wirtz and their new striker hit the ground running then maybe but they need to bank on gaining a lead.

However, their manager won the league in the season you guys had an off season and we had a bunch of injuries. Having Pep is easily an extra 10 points and I think if he's in the right frame of mind you'll come out winners. Klopp is a better manager than Slot imo and he hasnt had to deal with Pep properly yet. Arteta is decent but I dont think he can get the job done.

Yeah that's fair-it certainly looks like a 3 horse race

Agreed. Donnarumma and Rodrygo would make us favourites in my book, particularly if Liverpool don't get Isak.
It doesn't actually shift much for me whether we have Donnarumma and Rodrygo or Ederson and Savinho. Think it will be tight and go to the last 3 games we might or might not win it.

I dont think we are capable of going on a 14 game winning streak with this team but then again, I dont think any of the teams are either. The league lacks a city of 20-24 or even a dippers 19 side which means theres probably 4 teams who can genuinely win it and will win it with a far lower points tally similar to last season and fewer than we've become used to needing.

Who can keep their key players fit and who can grind out results will determine who wins it. Dippers and arsenal dont typically get a lot of injuries compared to us and Chelsea so they have to be favourites.

One thing I will say is I think we need a good start, can't be 8-10 points behind come christmas and expect to claw it back, if we fall behind by that kind of number, we arent catching up. It hasnt be as imperative to get a winning start in our first game since Pep has been here.

I might be missing something, but we're in the top 4 of every single pundit on that link
As host Alan Brazil said on Talksport today. Guys we've been talking about champions and top 4 for 10 minutes and no-one has mentioned Manchester City. The pundits response was that City have a weak defence but will be top 4 and moved quickly on to Spurs, Villa and even the rags chances of top 4.

It is the begrudging and lack of acknowledgement of City in much of the media, in spite of dominating the Premier League for years and still coming third last year after a perfect storm of setbacks, that I believe rankles with the poster.

Most of these pundits know where their loyalties, clicks and paychecks lie and it isnt with City. Soon they will be replaced by a new generation with a different outlook. Let's hope Pep and City do it again this season to add to their bitterness and demise.

I know Liverpool are favourites but the pundits are being incredibly dismissive to this squad. It’s like we’ve got a squad that’s comparable to the rags. This is a squad that contains Haaland, Marmoush, Cherki, Rodri, Reijnders, Gvardiol, Foden and Ait Nouri. Lots of young potential in Bobb, Khusanov, Doku and O’Reilly. I’m really looking forward to this season and that’s even before any more incomings

We are under the radar which some have also posted on here which suits me fine. Over here in spain the plastic dipper fans are all giddy with having Bournemouth tonight and pushing on with an onslaught of the league. Think most of us have seen this before.

main worry is the new players not just need to be better than the deteriorated Gundo, Walker, KDB, Bernardo, Ederson etc, they need to be as good as these players were in their prime for us.

not sure the transfer we had since last summer how many of those will hit those heights.

lot of room for improvement tactically as well based on last season, but this is being addressed by a brand new coaching staff under Pep.

We will score shedloads of goals whatever happens.
