Rico Lewis | Set to sign a new 5-year contract (pg33)

Just thinking about Forest - their central midfield 3 was usually Anderson & Gibbs-White ahead of Yates.

They've got McAtee - I wonder if they get Lewis as well there's a chance we go back in for Gibbs-White?

What do we need him for?

We have Reijnders doing the box to box role?

We ain't paying £70m for a backup.

If you popped into Tesco and you got shit service and you complained and maybe left a bad review complaining that this person didn't do their job correctly and that staff member was reprimanded.

Some on here would say just complaining about a member of the staff would be abuse, it's a fucking weird take.

Me "I think Lewis has had a bad game".

Cuck "Why do you hate him?".

No one has a problem with legit criticism.

The match day thread and many threads on the performance board has been full of abuse.

I think there’s a good chance that, alongside the McAtee and Lewis discussions - a deal happens in the background for MGW to join you next summer.

I don't see it, what examples are there? However we have had people openly admit on here that any criticism is abuse.

No, I know. But clearly we were interested - whether we still are could be totally different obviously.

It may make no sense, but McAtee & Lewis are both midfield options, and he's HG, so we could see an opportunity there. Probably not though.

So, Macatee and Rico to Forest.

Is anyone else thinking perhaps MGW might be back on?
He just signed a new contract and Marinakis just made a whole song and dance about him staying long term.

I would be stunned if any team, especially one owned by Marinakis just let him go like that.

We’d have to shift Kova/Gundo and also buy a RB. Seems like a lot to do.

I’m sure we have the money to do it all, Rodrygo deal would obviously be a big chunk. Unless we hold back on that (I don’t want is too) as we have good options already.

Not a chance Trafford goes anywhere
Its pie in the sky for sure, but if donnarumma comes it gives him a chance to show case himself and be a no 1 for the season and we still have Ortega as back up its more likely than Newcastle straight selling Livramento imho , but personally I don't think either would happen

My problem is we will be getting rid of 2 home young players while we still have the twat Philips. Is this about money or squad places.
Gundogan and Kovacic till here and clocking on taking up space. I could put up with one who’s next O’Reilly.
We gave him the contract.

It’s not quite as simple as that. Last season we normally played a 4231 with Anderson and Sangare in mid with MGW in the 10. We also play a three at the back formation, packing the midfield at the expense of CHO and Elanga as wingers. In preseason worked on a 442 with Igor Jesus as a 10 next to Chris Wood and Anderson and MGW as the double pivot. The issue we have is that we don’t have a replacement for MGW and we are crap without him. We know MGW will be off next summer and Hutchinson and / Or McAtee will be his replacement. Anderson is a nailed on starter as an 8, with hopefully Luiz replacing Sangare as the 6. Behind them we have Dominguez and Yates in reserve. Where does Lewis fit in?

Are we allergic to selling players over the age of 22?!
The players are under contract. If they don’t want to leave we can’t force them out. From their perspective it’s much more lucrative both financially and from a option point of view to run their contract down

I despair at some of the comments on here regarding this lad. He’s done nothing wrong and doesn’t deserve it. He’s one of us and ingrained in the club. So please show him a bit of respect and give him some credit for what he’s done for us because he’s never let us down when called upon.

We cannot sell Rico and not go for a RB. Surely we cant leave ourselves with no natural RB in our squad? No natural striker I get but not this...
