Wolves (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

It was the ability to get around a 10 man defence without 200 sideways passes that was the difference. Great to watch. Much harder games to come but with this team I can’t see us not challenging for the title.
Two goals came from counter attacks. It's everything we were hoping for. The best way to beat a stacked defence is not to let it stack.

I thought 4--0 was a bit harsh on Wolves, but we scored at the right moments, and they missed that good chance at the start of the Second Half.

Some great performances and encouraging signs of developing partnerships, especially as the move for Haaland's 2nd goal was almost a carbon copy of our 3rd in Palermo.

The only slight concern was the number of unchallenged crosses from their right wing and better teams will undoubtedly punish us.

Didn’t we just get a clean sheet? Wolves didn’t trouble us too much at all

Also after watching that performance wouldn’t you want Trafford starting next game. He was excellent
If they'd stayed onside in the first half they very much troubled us - but we improved as we got into the game
As for Trafford - he did everything you'd want a keeper to do, including decent distribution (which was my main concern with him).
8/10 today - if we can get Rodri in for 50% of the games until November I think we're looking ok

yep everyone feels so much better!! Just wonder what the pre match thread moaners - who called the team 'shite' -are doing now???? you know, those 'fans' who know better than Pep.. They know who they are!!
Yep, we know who they are, round, red, angry, sweaty face, bad teeth, a few greasy strands of hair across their slapheads, Friar Tuck fringe at the back, grubby tracky bottoms, slip-on shoes, point and shout 'forward, forward, forward' incessantly, still live with elderly mother in her flat, questionable personal hygiene, have plenty of spending money courtesy of mum. They think they know tactics and team selection better than Pep. I'm joking of course, but you get my drift.

Chuffed to bits.

New blood have brought some golazos with them.

The lad in Vinnie's shirt will be the next KdB. Come on Tijani!

That Trafford lad seems to have both Joe Hart's quality shot stopping AND Ederson's sublime feet passing. City No. 1 first clean sheet.

Bring on the spuds

Agreed. We only had 1 more shot on target than them but one of those days we were more clinical and they weren’t

Didn't watch as I've been on a tour of the apparent Beermuda triangle around Piccadilly for my 40th. Good performance as well as result?

Doku didn’t pull up any trees but suggesting he needs to manage to be able to make a 5 yard pass when his pass completion was 94.7%, only bettered by Bernardo of the starters, perhaps your attention to detail is worse than his passing.
Looked like he lost possession a damn sight more than that stat suggests.

Those posting negatives are fucking nuts. That was as good start as we could possibly hope for. Someone quoted the back four weren’t that good!!!???? That back line for the offsides was utterly world class

Stronger first-half than second, when we actually lost our way a bit and were on the back foot before getting the all-important third goal. It was harder going than 4-0 suggests, and Wolves admittedly do look short of quality, but for us there were a lot of positives given how little they’ve played together.
