After couple of decent articles about City’s win and performance at Wolves yesterday, and City needing to move on players.(Pep in his press interview)

Gaughan starts this morning with…….

Why would any self respecting City fan pay money to read that article?

Imagine if Liverpool, Arsenal, United or Chelsea had won their first game away 0-4.

There would be positive article, after article, about those teams. (not that United would win 0-4)
tbf to Jack, he writes the article some **** creates the click bait headline

"Rooney turned up at 10:30am to formally kick off his new role as a regular pundit for the broadcaster. The former Manchester United and England captain is believed to have signed a lucrative deal worth around £800,000 a year to join the iconic football highlights programme"

4,584 License fee payer's to fund his salary Utter disgrace

Easiest money anyone will ever earn. Almost any of us could state the obvious about some football highlights. How the fuck do they justify wasting so many licence fees for that?

Not just Rooney, I don’t remember any of these pundits ever saying anything insightful that anyone with a modicum of understanding of the game can’t see for themselves.

The Daily Mail were first and said "it is believed to be 800k" the others picked up the story and based on what the fail said wrote "it has been reported to be 800..."
Usual under hand shit.
I don’t think they will be that far off tbh, when you think about it 800k per year works out to be 16k per show, and I don’t think weetabix head would get out of bed for anything less.

On the BBC I Player on Sunday morning you can get 7 min highlights of every match. Much better than watching the programme at night. Or play the full programme and fast forward through the "insights"
Good call.

I noticed in the top right corner of the screen on bbc channels last night, mid-evening, well before MOTD, there was a message saying click here for PL match highlights. So I wonder if BBC now have same rights as Sky to show short highlights packages from 5.15pm onwards this season(?) Certainly saves waiting for the 10.20pm drivel.

So true. It is very rare to learn anything new. I have learned more watching City under Pep in the last ten years than the previous 45 years of watching City. To be fair football has evolved dramatically.

There must still be a small hard core of fans who like to tune in to BBC1 at 10:20 pm on a Saturday night not knowing the scores. They must spend all Saturday evening in a media blackout. No TV news, no radio, no Internet. Daren't go to the pub or out to get a takeaway in case somebody mentions a match result. Then, at 10:15, the half wits on the BBC News report on the main football highlights of the day so that these poor souls have to be reminded to "look away now." If Match of the Day is literally being shown in the next 5 minutes why do they have to report on the days' games in the news? Most fans already know the scores because they have had five hours to check them out, and those who don't know the scores are those who have spent five hours deliberately trying to avoid hearing them.

He started one very insightful sentence with how WHU needed to be more clinical, no prizes for guessing he ended the sentence with WHU needed to be more clinical! If Pep ended up on there he should be asking for £800k an episode!

Fuck me Rooney isn't the worst, At least he ain't an arse licking ****.
Before anyone accuses me of being a rag ( which will make a change from the usual Dipper accusations thrown at me:-)),Rooney was actually OK on the cup final last season and called out that disgraceful non red of Henderson, whilst Shearer was at the most vitriolic biased I've ever heard him.

I've not watched motd yet so can't comment on last night!!

:) I suppose this counts as media. I was watching the lovely Alice with her review of the match and she said, bless her little cotton socks (I hope) that a lot of people had written City off from the title race because of one bad year but, and I quote, "this is Manchester City we are talking about". I like the sound of that. I hope it catches on.
I’ve seen her reviews a few times and I have to say, tactically she is more astute than half the idiots in the mainstream media

I noticed that too. No time for Rooney but Shearer just acted like a pub bore, not letting anyone speak.
Do what i do if not watching it on Saturday night just forward it when they speak .............can you be arsed listening to them any way both great strikers dont get me wrong ............but one was in charge of Newcastle when they dropped the other is like the grim reaper of helping clubs go down.

Pathetic desperate needy rag sycophantic **** that David Jones on Sly Sports main event.

He's actually pressing Roy Keane to say something positive about the rags.

That thick fucker Sturridge saying "the players will go into the dressing room disappointed they lost the game but they'll be pleased to see progress from last season"

Richards is just Richards, a clown for Sly who says whatever the producers tell him to say.

Why do they offer him so much money?
