Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

I do wonder if Rodrygo is done, Savinho’s been informed, that's why he wants to leave as he sees his spot under threat and the rest is just waiting for the dominoes to fall.

I think that makes the most sense for me with Sav's quite sudden desire to leave and Rodrygo, who did actually want to leave, not taking a move all summer.

No chance of this in my opinion. If someone sneezes in Madrid it’s all over the front page of their newspapers. If a Rodrygo deal was close they’d be absolutely all over it.

Also Pep seemed disappointed with Savinho in his press conferences so I don’t see it being driven by us.

There is no way I’d be selling Savinho unless someone better is coming in though, just hope the club see it this way rather than this being an easy way of trimming the squad.

That one Madrid fan has had it nailed on since May, MariaGMC may yet be the greatest ITK.

Nah I get what you mean, feels odd all round, from Savinho never being mentioned as a departure, Rodrygo flirting with us at all times, him wanting to leave Madrid but not taking any offers but waiting all summer for us potentially.

If we don't replace Savinho that will end up being the "what if" of the season, nowhere near enough attacking players especially if Foden isnt up to speed.

Nah.

If this little sniveller wasn't getting any game time at City, I could understand him wanting to take a step down, but to agitate for a move to a serial win nowt outfit like Spurs and be one of Thomas Frank's bus-parkers, when you're being afforded plenty of opportunity at City, just hums of a weak mentality. I wanted him to stay and prove his worth on a consistent basis, cos you can see the talent in him, but it's clear he hasn't got the cojones. Don't let the door knob hit you up the arse on the way out, son.

Haha pretty much my thoughts

After yesterday I’d love to see him on the left for us if he stays.
Thought he did well there whenever given the chance last season.

But at the same time I’m kinda of the opinion that if he wants to go let him.
Just want committed players this season tbh, no room for lads whose heads aren’t in it.

Replace him with Rodrygo and it’s a massive upgrade no doubt about it. Think people are seriously underestimating that guy going off of his stats. He’s versatile and has all the tools to excel under Pep. Only 24 too so loads of room to improve.

Win win for us tbh because I really rate Savinho to kick on and become a top player, but if he leaves Rodrygo is better here and now and has potential to improve too at only 24.

Exciting times either way

Hard to disagree with any of that tbh. Wasn't expecting it as lot to like about Sav. But shit is starting to add up with him.

I don't think 7 attackers for 4 roles is stacked.

7 CMs for two slots and 6 CBs for 2 slots is where we can lose a couple of guys.

Especially as Foden's fitness is in doubt, that leaves just Doku, Bobb, Cherki, Marmoush for 3 spots week in week out.
Plus Haaland, Bernardo and Echiverri. Then we also have Musaka.

And why are you doubting Fodens fitness? He has a niggle.

Thought RAN was defensive too yesterday, might have had something to do with being back at wolves
Had to do with Nico G playing on the left side of midfield. He was excellent but I'm sure Pep wanted to be a bit conservative as he continues to bed in.
