Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Not a great look that he's staying when he's been training alone since last week and been posting on his socials to undermine Pep saying that he was injured.

Rico Lewis on the other hand was the total opposite despite the rumours of him leaving. Played really well and made some really good comments in the press following the game.
Foden, O'Reilly, Rico and Trafford are blues and play like it.

This is a good move, IMO.
Savinho has serious potential, on the left AND the right. He will compete with Bobb and with Doku and Marmoush. It gives us a lot of flex.
I'm also not a fan of turning a 21-year-old into a pariah.
I have no interest in Rodrygo.
There are no guarantees with young talent - let's just see how it goes.

Am thinking this is just posturing and we await the third bid. Assume we still want to reduce the size of the squad and would expect any unhappy players to be first in line for an exit. Would rather in not be Spurs unless he is about to turn into Bebe in which case would delightfully let him go to Spuds.

Lewis it would appear would be prepared to stay and fight for his place not sure that is the case with Savinho. I have mixed feeling about Sav following this drama and my gut feeling is that it might be best if he left. Also I think he will leave if a genuine 70m offer comes in for him.
For years, we’ve had some on here bemoaning our now club captain for wanting away. He’s been a virtual ever present and is probably Guardiola’s first pick, yet for the ultra-Moonbeams that will never be enough. Maybe Savinho never wanted to leave but the club saw an opportunity to get out of its jam and ultimately Spurs couldn’t match the price. None of us know, but if he stays, he deserves our support and hopefully we’ll see him improve.

It wouldn't surprise me if this fell apart after us finding out how much rodrygo was expecting to be paid, I could be wrong but I imagine Savinho is on a fairly modest salary (if there is such a thing for footballers)

The bigger problem is that Rodrygo would expect to be a firm starter, and that wouldn't be great for other players like Marmoush, Doku, Bobb, even Foden/Cherki. All of these players, Foden aside, would accept to be on the bench for, say, 40% of the games. Foden isn't a troublemaker either.

I think Pep rates Savinho higher than many fans. Let's see what happens.

If Spurs pull out I want him sold to the first club that meet our valuation. The ungrateful hard faced **** has only been here one season and wanted out to Spurs ffs, one of our most hated clubs!
I don’t if he accepts nobody met our valuation, like Bernardo did in the past and gets on with being a. City player I’m more than happy to carry on supporting him when he plays. Spurs don’t even bother me that much there are a few teams I dislike much more than spurs.

Tottenham ITK who’s very good for them saying Levy believes that City don’t want to let Savinho go until after we play them. The money is there for Savinho

Thats why they are getting Eze done first.
I claimed the exact same thing last week and I have zero information.

He can fuck off. I liked Savinho but entertaining Spurs then posting training pics in his house when Pep said he's injured, he can fuck off.
Without knowing much about how injuried he is or what is being said between him and the club, I dont really see any problems with injuried players posting pictures from them being in the gym. If you have a lower body injury you can (and probably should) obviously still do some upper body training. He is injuried, not in a coma.

More than happy to keep savinho. Felt like it would have been a big mistake to let him go. Is he the finished product? No, but hes very young, already very good and has the potential to be elite and he's a different profile to what we have. Made no sense to me to ship him out.

Maybe right, but if the player is pushing to leave after 12 months, I can't imagine it will have impressed him.

He’ll be gone in January. He’ll see his arse over game time and won’t handle the stick he’ll rightly get. Hope he proves me wrong, but he’s clearly got a weak mentality and isn’t up for the fight. As our club captain said, I wouldn’t want to go to war with him.
Our club captain who wanted out 3 summers in a row yet was not "canned".

I think we can go a bit overboard with a player seeing the appeal of a deal put in front of him.

If he doesn't go, trains well, locks down the RW spot, makes the Brazil squad next summer and we double his wages next summer I imagine this is all forgotten fairly easy.

And how do you know that? Rodrygo never complains when Madrid rots him on the bench.

There's no chance we're not accepting 70+mil for Savinho who had 1 PL goal last season. He's worth 60mil at most. Spurs haven't even sent the 3rd offer that they plan on and you are all believing some random Brazilian source. It's been 1 hour and Romano didn't even mention it.

He'll never be worth more than he is now. Unless he's suddenly able to finish then his playtime will dwindle and he'll leave for 30 odd mil next summer.
We have too much competition for 2 positions. And he's arguably our worst winger.

Bernardo turned into a world class player here had been here several seasons before his wife started nagging him she wanted to move to a club with a sunny climate. If he had have moved I'd have thanked him and remembered him fondly for his part in our success.

Savinho should have spoken out he's happy here and knuckled down. Had he done so I don't think many blues would want him gone. I don't care how good his potential is I want him sold. One year here and he wants out? Fuck him.
