Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Happy for him to stay if so.

Players (quite rightly imo) earn a living by doing the best they can on the pitch. They would be foolish not to be open to any career changes providing that they don't burn bridges. Savinho hasn't said a word so has done nothing wrong.

Why some have turned against him is a mystery to me. I hope he gets nothing but support when he plays next.

The bigger problem is that Rodrygo would expect to be a firm starter, and that wouldn't be great for other players like Marmoush, Doku, Bobb, even Foden/Cherki. All of these players, Foden aside, would accept to be on the bench for, say, 40% of the games. Foden isn't a troublemaker either.

I think Pep rates Savinho higher than many fans. Let's see what happens.

He can expect what he likes lol.....and whatever he expects or thinks is irrelevant to those other players.
Or do you seriously think any player dictates if they start or not?.....if you do, it's probably not a great idea for you to be posting on a football forum ;)

And how do you know that? Rodrygo never complains when Madrid rots him on the bench.

There's no chance we're not accepting 70+mil for Savinho who had 1 PL goal last season. He's worth 60mil at most. Spurs haven't even sent the 3rd offer that they plan on and you are all believing some random Brazilian source. It's been 1 hour and Romano didn't even mention it.

I'm not believing any source and didn't exclude the possibility that Savinho might go. Hence the last sentence in the post you are replying to.

Your take on Savinho is harsh. At his age Salah was still at Basel. His potential is the important thing here. Did Palmer look better than him before moving to Chelsea? No, that's why we wanted just 45m or so.

Bernardo turned into a world class player here had been here several seasons before his wife started nagging him she wanted to move to a club with a sunny climate. If he had have moved I'd have thanked him and remembered him fondly for his part in our success.

Savinho should have spoken out he's happy here and knuckled down. Had he done so I don't think many blues would want him gone. I don't care how good his potential is I want him sold. One year here and he wants out? Fuck him.
Does Pep ? Does anyone at the club? If they are relaxed about it so am I.If he comes out of the tunnel at tne weekend I’ll support him sure most there will too.Thats all there needs to be to it.

Was he pushing? All I ever saw was he’d be open to it if we accepted an offer, not the same as pushing or trying to force his way out.

Neither you nor I know the answer to that question, and the media imo cannot ever be relied upon, but perhaps you missed or ignored the " if " in the post ?

We don't have time to wait on Savinho to maybe become a great player in 5 years time. He's nowhere near the level of the wingers that clubs we compete against have.

I don't know but I think Pep will be pissed off with him. If he stays and keeps his head down and plays well he'll be ok, and him wanting out will be eventually forgiven and forgotten about.

Like Pep, I don't want players that don't want to be here.

For years, we’ve had some on here bemoaning our now club captain for wanting away. He’s been a virtual ever present and is probably Guardiola’s first pick, yet for the ultra-Moonbeams that will never be enough. Maybe Savinho never wanted to leave but the club saw an opportunity to get out of its jam and ultimately Spurs couldn’t match the price. None of us know, but if he stays, he deserves our support and hopefully we’ll see him improve.
I was just expressing the view that it might be best if he left due to given circumstances. If he stays I do of course hope that things work out for him and the club. I don't think this case and the situation in the past regarding Bernardo can be considered directly comparable.

Not fussed either way. I’m probably in the minority but I don’t see Rodrygo as a significant upgrade and you could argue Savinho has the potential to be just as good if not better.

Not even about getting Rodrygo now for me, about getting rid of a player thats happy to leave.

Are Chelsea still waiting Palmer to become a great player?

Nobody can be sure whether and when a given player will become a top player. Even the best in the game can't be sure about that, let alone random people on the net.

Yes fair enough I did miss the if, but I’m entirely happy letting Pep and The club decide from the facts, rather than making any judgement based off media and mainly twitter like one or two seem to be. Plus you’d think if any bridges had been burnt we’d have negotiated on the fee to get rid, while we seem to have stuck firm to our asking price, and are comfortable about not selling.

Tbh I am not convinced that there isn't more hype than substance regarding him, but admit that I don't watch RM often. I certainly don't want the club to spend excessive money for a shiny new toy

I seem to recall tolmie's hairdoo saying something along the same lines when Pep was reported to want him.

But I am a FOC and my memory isn't what it was.
