Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Sav is one of the few players where I am completely on the fence. There is a shitload of talent there, but the decision-making and shooting…oh my fucking word. £70m feels like a snap their fucking hand off moment and yet anything less seems like a give him another season. I haven’t a fucking clue when it comes to this one.
All I know is that he's way more of a footballer than Doku.

Again, I’m torn. As it is now, I would much rather watch Doku. Yet, I think that Doku will always be Doku but if Savinho could just sort himself out, he would be a 10G and 10A a season player. Savinho is one of those that you think he just needs a kick up the arse.

I have not read any reliable source report about Savinho refusing to turn up at the CFA despite the club wanting him to, have you? What is it that Savinho has said that does not correlate with what Pep said? Posting a picture of him being in the gym? You know that if a player has an injury in his leg he can still go to the gym and just not train his leg?

EDIT: I am not saying you are absolutely wrong, I just wonder where you have read all this. Since I must have missed it.

I didn’t say he had refused to turn up mate but any other player who has an all injury is always with the squad and our club doctors etc? Besides a face like a smacked arse in Italy, Savinho seemed ok when he played against Palmero? So nothing overly problematic that normally would have a player in with the club staff working on issues?

If he stays wenhave a young skillfull player at our disposal

however he doesn't get in on the right before bobb, Foden, Berny and at a push Cherki used there and he doesn't get in on the left before Marmoush or O'Rielly for me as f9r him. amd Doku, both have the same fault, the willingness to take on a player when under pressure or to have a shot when one is on

A lot happens before a player is deemed 'open to a move' and usually a lot afterwards too.
Absolutely. But I would still argue there is a big difference between wouldn't turn down a move if the clubs agree on a fee and telling the club you want to be sold. In the first scenario you could also be happy with staying, in the other one you are not.

Not sure you ever want to open that debate if you don't want to be out.

Maybe training with wide forwards that can score will up his output.

We'll probably play 3 behind haaland so its more

Marmoush / doku
Foden / Cherki
Savinho / Bobb

Which is very healthy indeed.

I don't enjoy watching Doku at least not in our team. He gets the ball. He's stationary, he's up against 2 defenders, there's a lot of shuffling about. It's sort of like the rest of the 19 players on the pitch are not involved.

Savinho is a more elegant player but as you say needs a kick up the arse.

Interesting reading The Fighting Cock forum and Spurs fan reactions. A mixture of being gutted and happy they’re not paying £70m - citing the fact that most blues weren’t best pleased with the Balague report earlier today.

There seemed to be an acceptance that Levy wouldn’t stump up for both Eze and Savinho but some hoped it’d be Savinho he’d pay for because they’re desperate for a left winger apparently. Some referring to Levy as ‘Baldcunt’ which is amusing and that we ‘got bored’ of his negotiating so have called the deal off.

Although some are adamant that if they offered what we supposedly wanted, and he said he’d want to leave, then it’d still happen.

Would be an interesting scenario if that did pan out but I reckon we’d reject any bid regardless now. Especially if it comes late in the window when we can’t replace him.

The below acceptance is enjoyable, though:

I do think our squad would be more balanced with Savinho rather than Rodrygo.

I think with Haaland, Marmoush, Foden, Cherki, Reijnders and Bobb you have plenty of options who can create and score from more central areas, which is probably Rodrygo's biggest strength. He's not a touchline winger.

Doku and Savinho offer something different in their ability to stretch the game by staying out wide and using their pace 1v1. Yes, they both need to improve their numbers. But I do think that if Savinho can add goals to his game like Vinicius Jr, who couldn't hit a barn door when he arrived at Real, he can be a world beater.

Having said that, I'd only be happy to keep him if he wants to be here. If he's happy to knuckle down, put a smile on his face and work, and justify the faith that Pep and the club have put in him.

Spoke to 2 of my mates connected to the club (after thinking Bernardo was referring to him) and in fairness they didn’t know who it was. They did say Savio isn’t well liked by others around the club. Not necessarily the squad/squad management team though.

Shite.

Attention seeking shit stirrer.
