Premier League Games | 15/16/17/18 August '25

Happy for Lucas and I hope he gets more chances for the sheep botherers this year, and like those before and after him I am sure he will bag one against us

No the ball wasn't going to hit his arm until he leaned his body and arm towards the ball, the ball.didnt move direction so if the ball wasn't going to hit his arm then it did only one thing can have happened

Arm to ball.
It was tucked as far behind his body that is humanly possible.

Pretty much every fanbase other than Liverpool (who always seemed to average 30-45k from WW2 to 2015 when they expanded further) have had shocking attendance figures at one time or another.

Don’t forget City in the early 60s averaged 14k one season with some 8k gates at some games. The Rags averaged 11k a few times in the 20s and 30s with 3k gates for some games.
Any comments regarding the actual number of people inside compared to the gate receipts should be addressed on a brown paper envelope to Peter Wiggy Swales c/o Maine Road Manchester! ;-/

Keeping your arm by your side is fine but you can't lean into it, that's no different to raising your arm out.

FFS as you rightly point out leaning into it and it hitting his arm is handball, posters can surely see that?

Everton absolutely awful. Grealish looked good but surrounded by absolute dross.

Pointless passing to them you're gonna have to do it all on your own Jack lad

But it was still arm to ball....or it wouldn't have hit it.....and it still made his 'body' bigger....or it wouldn't have hit it.
I'm not agreeing with the rules, but I would have instantly bet my house, every belonging, and every penny I have on that being a penalty, unfortunately it was nailed on.

Ref would never give that against the Dippers. He wouldn’t have even given it to Everton. He buckled under the constant crowd appealing for everything

Absolutely nobody will convince me that was a pen, other than chop your arms off, fuck knows what he’s supposed to do. Refs guessing again

His arm wasn't "behind his back".

His arm is so close to being behind his back that I think the distinction isn’t important - we’re talking inches. I’m never going to agree with anybody who thinks that’s handball though because if it were up to me very little would be given as handball by today’s standards. I want handballs to be confined to people literally throwing hands at the ball and that’s it. The way it is now it’s just petty and ruins the game by giving free goals to teams that don’t deserve it. Very few who commit handball in today’s game are doing it deliberately.

It should be more like the back pass rule where you really have to take the piss to fall foul of it.

The body bigger part of deliberate handball also has 'and is unjustifiable'.

It's the type of decision that wouldn't be given other weeks. Either way VAR wouldn't which is shite in itself.
