Match of the Day

They probably can’t show any more, under the terms of their contract.

Not certain but think I might have read once that they can’t show more than 12 minutes of any game. And I think there might be even more restrictive terms for games that were shown live on other channels.
Don't think they showed anywhere near 12 minutes of any games last night.

The BBC chairman, Samir Shah, has suggested a shift in focus for Match of the Day, advocating for more analysis and less emphasis on match highlights. This change is proposed as Gary Lineker steps down as host

Mind you someone will be along soon just justify granny shaggers wages and the fact the BBC show fuck all football just a lot of fanfare and no knickers.

I remember reading an article about that last season, they really haven't got a fucking clue.

The programme should show 90% football, have the odd interview, and should have minimal waffle. You only need a presenter, and at a push one pundit.

I just want to see the goals, they can leave the Dolphins, ex rags and unemployable scouse out of it.

I thought Chappers and Gabby were both great. I'm happy for Chappers. He's done the time at the BBC and proven himself over the years. I still remember listening to him as the sports reporter on the Scott Mills show back on Radio 1 years ago.

Still watch it on "tape delay" to fast forward through the analysis.

It got far too annoying that they showed you something in analysis that they were not allowed to show you in the highlights as they had to cut too much out. After 25 years Lineker said he thought there was a clause that limited the highlights to around 12 mins, but he wasn't sure, and his general disinterst in football seemed evident through his tenure. Fancy doing your job and not making sure you know the basics?
