Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

Wissa the Brentford player is doing exactly the same thing, but he wants to move to Newcastle who must have given him some encouragement?

At the very least sent their mate over to see if he fancies it.
Unfortunately, that's why I think this still gets signed. There's only so much bleating the club can do when they've got a rivals player doing the exact same thing to sign for them.

Liverpool’s attacking options are always amongst the strongest in the league anyway. It’s their defence where they could come unstuck.

All clubs tap players up, it's gone on since the beginning
I watched Back Pages Tonight, and Martin Hardy from the Times was on. He said that Newcastle officials had told him last season that they feared Liverpool would sign Isak. Isak, according to Hardy, has been a long term objective for LFC. That doesn't imply wrong-doing.

The position of Isak and Newcastle is now untenable IMHO mate, he has shit the proverbial bed. Imagine if the scouse say they don't want him now though? That'll be a fine ending to an outstandingly mad transfer window all round.

Fuck the dippers.
Sign Newcastle's potential Isak replacement then try signing Isak on the cheap after fucking with his head.
Absolute arseholes who think they're bigger than everyone else

He’ll help but they’re still vulnerable particularly as van Dijk is in decline and their full-backs can’t defend.
We have quite the same issue to be honest, Ait Nouri is an improvement over last year ,but not a very good defending left back ,right back is even worse.

Still amazed how Newcastle can’t get 1 striker ! And they need 2! Regardless of Isak

Their attack is weaker now. They lost both Jota/Diaz who were top players. Jota is out of their control but Diaz is big miss, They have only added Ekitike. Currently their bench is a meme player Chiesa and no one else. Unless they are planning to use Wirtz as false 9, I don't see where this strong attack is.

They will get Guehi so they will sort their defense, but their attack is weaker than us and Arsenal as it stands.

Good fucking god, that Isak statement. What a giant baby. The guy signed a six-year deal with Newcastle and now halfway through it he decides he wants out. Newcastle say "No mate, you signed a six-year deal" and now he's on about broken promises or whatever the fuck. He's playing European football and he'll still get his move in 2026. He desperately needs to get that dummy back in.

This is how it was when Tevez was at City. A dynamite player who was too good for us at the time - he basically dragged us up the league on his own. But every summer it was "Ooh my precious ego, won't somebody consider my ego, I might leave City... for my ego..." and every summer he stayed, until we realised Aguero was unbelievably loyal and we fucked Tevez off to Juve.

Isak's got 10 years left at the top level, give or take. He's playing for a team in the Champions League that (nowadays anyway) wins trophies. He's living in a swanky apartment in a great city and he's playing in front of one of the most passionate fanbases in Europe. 50,000+ people love him to bits and would happily lick the shit off his shoes, even if he was plucked from them for £100m next summer. And he decides to blow it all up, for what?

It feels like Bruno Guimaraes understands all of the above and therefore needs to have a word with Mr. Isak. Football is football, and Isak will probably play for Newcastle again soon and he'll be booed until he scores a goal, but Christ alive, why don't players wait until they've got a bit more leverage before kicking up a fuss like this? They're so badly advised. Kane did the same thing in 2021 at Spurs and it blew up his City move.

Players have far, far too much power these days. Football embraced the mighty dollar and gave it all to the agents. The genie's been out the bottle for years. Isak's actually managed to get himself in a position where, without doing any of the legal stuff, he's gone on strike. He hasn't even handed in an official transfer request, he's just decided he's never going to work for his employer ever again. It's incredible.

Let's be honest Liverpool are far more attractive club and bigger than Newcastle. I don't agree what he has done, but I fully understand it. He has a chance of winning the league with Liverpool, Newcastle are never winning the league or competing for it. Of course I don't want him to join them because he will turn them into clear favourites to the league.

Im not sure how Newcastle win in this situation.

IF they keep him (which of course they are entitled to do) they will end up with a very unhappy player (ok so who cares about him) but also with a very unhappy squad - other players wont like what is going on either way - some might be thinking -what if an offer comes in for me - will the club sell me (someone like Livramento for instance). Others will rightfully feel betrayed by him (they are trying to build something big and he wants to leave them).

The biggest issue will be the fans however - I just don't see that the Geordie fans will every accept him back. Football fans are fickle (and Tevez did something similar to us - though that wasn't about wanting to leave but he did basically refuse to play at one point) but this has been extremely public and is slightly different...Isak is saying I dont want to play for you anymore...Tevez's fall out was personal between him and Mancini.

Would we accept someone back who did the exact same thing? I dont think we would regardless of who it was.

And if the fans wont accept him back then I dont think the club have a choice but to sell him - they surely wouldnt leave a player in the reserves/on the bench for 3 years,..and his value will only depreciate with time.

edit: Id love Newcastle to win out however I just dont see it happening. ..be very funny if they did.

I think the two play each other very soon as well...that wil be extremely toxic
