I may well believe in a god if this happens. They might even get Gundo on a free…

Not to single you out, but the way our fanbase has turned on Gundo is quite shameful. You all had your trousers down in excitement only a year ago for his return. He started slow but eventually found his groove. He's still a good player, and he's still a good man.I may well believe in a god if this happens.

The summer transfer window closes later in leagues outside the top five."Their current offer could simply stay on the table until the Premier League window shuts. If City turn it down, Gala would then shift their focus to Donnarumma"
Don't the windows all shut at the same time or have I missed something (or possibly just misread that line)?
Just as we did with Kompany leaving & having no competition & back-up for Rodri. The 'Can do a job' crew stepped in claiming we had adequate cover from other positions, but both situations led to the Dippers winning the title.
Perhaps City have finally learned their lesson & will no longer rely on 'can do a job' squad players, & keeping our fingers crossed for the season.
We need like for like squad replacements & also need to replace leaving players with incoming players of equal or better ability.
It's not hate. You must not get confused with wanting a player to not play with hating them. It's coz he was shit last year. Hope that helps. Loved him the first time around. Now, someone will come back now and say he was good at the end of the season and I will say he had 4 good games and then someone will say you don't know football/fuck off what about against Newcastle etc. and I will not respond because this conversation has been done to death. This is a club legend we're talking about. Likely a future City coach. Sure he's not in his prime, but if he plays 30 mins here or there and helps develop Tijani, Nico G, Nico OR, Cherki, etc., is that not worth one of the last squad spots?
Why all the hatred?

One of our greatest players ever.I may well believe in a god if this happens.
Agreed. If he wants to play every game and we can’t offer him that then fair play I hope the club let him move. Which I think is the case with Nico O’Reilly coming through. Not to single you out, but the way our fanbase has turned on Gundo is quite shameful. Wait until he plays false keeper in Turkey if he thinks the family stand aren’t very supportive.

You’ll be in trouble from @BringBackSwales shortly…I may well believe in a god if this happens.
IF Akanji is going along with one of the keepers there is no real urgency for Gundogan to leave, especially with Kovacic still out, so as long as he understands his position in the squad and he can work with the younger players and is happy with it then no problems having him around the squad.Agreed. The message I quoted, and others on this thread, are hate. It's not hate. You must not get confused with wanting a player to not play with hating them. It's coz he was shit last year. Hope that helps. Christ on a bike, everyone is so precious on here. It’s all to be taken in a pinch of salt. We know how important Gundo has been in our past, not quite a legend but one hell of a servant to the club. However, he is now surplus to requirements and potentially hampering other players breaking through, nothing more serious than that. If we could have an unlimited squad then great stick around, but we know how important every place is on that list and when players have to go out on loan because of old guard sticking around then that doesn’t help and everyone starts moaning about why we sign these youngsters and ship them off!Agreed. If he wants to play every game and we can’t offer him that then fair play I hope the club let him move. Which I think is the case with Nico O’Reilly coming through.
Gundo is a legend.
Nah, guy will fly home, then change his shirt and get next flight back to discuss Eddie! ;-)I wonder if Gala will talk about Ederson when they’re in England for Akanji.
Yeah I’d be very happy with that to be honest.IF Akanji is going along with one of the keepers there is no real urgency for Gundogan to leave, especially with Kovacic still out, so as long as he understands his position in the squad and he can work with the younger players and is happy with it then no problems having him around the squad.
Haha oh I get the process and like I said if he can’t get the minutes I hope the club move him on…Christ on a bike, everyone is so precious on here. It’s all to be taken in a pinch of salt. I know mate, but lots moaned about not giving Kev a new deal, yet currently we still have all 3 of the other older mids around in Bernie, Gundo and Kova. In an ideal world we’d have moved on 2 of the remaining 3, and might well still do, but personally I’d have much preferred Echeverri getting a squad place than it being taken up by say Gundo.Haha oh I get the process and like I said if he can’t get the minutes I hope the club move him on…
I want Nico O’Reilly to get a proper chance in the middle.
For me Gundo is a legend and I’m not someone that personally calls a lot of players legends. He was our captain during the treble season which he was fantastic. He won us the FA cup final in that run, won us the league the year before with the goals against Villa.
I’m happy if he moves on, I’m not happy with how some fans criticism of him. I thought the year he was Barca and how openly he spoke about performance level and expectations shows his character and how important he’s been to recent success.
But everyone has different opinions.
I don’t know what your criteria is for legend but in terms of what he has won with us and in Germany + his goals and his assists for us + his very own Aguero moment he certainly meets mine.not quite a legend
