They are like an actor that started out in edgy roles - hits the big time and does a couple of blockbusters - then hits the buffers - no more lead male roles and turns down comedy roles as its "beneath them" - currently struggling to get voice overs for obscure nature documentaries and does a few TV adverts for cleaning products.................

A modern day Harry H Corbett, from Shakespeare to a fucking Rag & bone man….

The pressure they've had bestowed on them by the raggy media to win their next game is now immense already.
Funny as fuck if Fulham turn them over, then we'll probably see the media turn on Amorim, so soon after their amazing defeat by Arsenal as well.

Never mind Fulham, I can see them getting undone by Grimsby.

No doubt it will be spun with no Europe, no league cup it allows more time on the training ground.

What a great Ryanair advert..

United won't be travelling to Europe this year but you can.

Football is back. Sub the sofa for a sun-lounger and score some last-minute sun with flights from £29.99.

Michael O’Leary might be a Cnut - but he is our Cnut after all!

Just to pick up on a couple of points.

You say the rags played better than last season. That's hardly an endorsement. Also it was their first game of the season so you would expect them to put a bit of effort into it.

You mentioned Cunha & Mbuemo are great signings. They said exactly the same thing about Hojlund and every other forward player that has joined them since 2013.

I know it seems as though the rags should improve and challenge for European football but that assumption is based on them being a "big" club.

The reality is they're a global brand which has nothing at all to do with their football acumen.

Hojlund was a nobody. Cunha and Mbuemo were proven premier league quality. They've had a bit of sense and bought proven quality this summer.

In what way have they demonstrated "proven quality" ?

Both happened to perform above their usual (decidedly average) level last season.

Up until last season they both looked like nothing more than average mid-table players at best.

They both scored loads of goals for very average sides and stood out in those sides. They aren't World Class players no, but they are very good players in the same way Eze is a very good player (but not top level). They are good enough for Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea and Villa. They will improve them, and are much better than the likes of Antony, Garnacho, Sancho etc.

Not sure if this is a wind up or not but here we go.

Proven quality?

Mbuemo had one good season at Brentford. Brentford had a very good manager at the time in Thomas Frank who coached progressive football.

Cunha played in a wolves side that finished 16th largely due to the fact, that the lazy fucker spent most of the game strolling around the bastard pitch.

Add to that, both these "premier league proven" players are now picking up significantly improved wages as they ply their trade at rag central; I think we can safely say they'll soon be following the likes of Hojlund, Sancho, Rashford........... need I go on?

Wondered what Russell Crowe was doing now.

You mention clubs that will improve players, such as Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea and Villa.

I notice you didn't mention our filthy neighbours from Trafford. Which if we're being honest you couldn't have really, at least not with a straight face anyway.

The whole premise of your argument that Cunha and Mbuemo will improve the rags hinges on a critical point of them both developing under Amorim.

I'm not sure whether you've been following the rags over the past decade or so, but the last player to develop under any manager at that god forsaken place was probably Ronaldo (the first time) under the pisscan.

It doesn't matter which players that club sign and it doesn't matter which manager they bring in; as a footballing concern they're finished.

Pep would struggle at that club.

My point was, if you get players that improve other teams, then surely they will improve them. May not take them into the top 4, but possibly a top 6 finish.

But as you say, they've brought in the likes of Di Maria, Casemiro, Falcao, Varane, Sancho and Pogba and not improved as a team.

After finishing 15th last time out ,its clear a total re think was required.

Any overhaul you start at the back.

Goal keeper and back four must be solid....so wtf did they start with a substandard clown in goal
Ycnmiu. Comedy goal.

Not watched their last match so had no idea what score was...went out shortly after match ended spotted a lone male wearing what I'm sure looked like an old cheap and nasty pre ferguson away top, looking a bit despondent hands in pockets like he was kicking a can down the road..

Minutes later I spotted an arsenal fan wearing a more modern top , walking away from a pub excitedly talking on his mobile phone with a big smile on his face...that made me smile too
Found out that they'd lost hours later....hilarious.

I'm still not sure you understand what the words "proven" and "quality" actually mean.

Will they be champions again one day? Not in my lifetime.
