Arsenal thread | 2025/26

Spurs fans sitting in their cuck chairs watching this. Beautiful.

All because of the Havertz injury. I reckon that's the best assist he's ever made.
Reckon it's been on the cards for days. Not often a transfer starts and ends in a few hours.

It was in progress earlier in the window but then Nwaneri signed his deal and we went cold on it. Havertz' injury meant we picked it back up - Eze is an Arsenal fan so was always going to choose them over Spurs.

I'm still confused why we signed Madueke as cover for Saka but 'can also play on the left' when we could have had a proper left sided attacker in Eze for a bit more money in the 1st place. We always had Nwaneri as cover for Saka anyway and he did pretty well last season when he had to cover for his injury.

What motivates rival fans to City to be on this forum? Not offending just always wondered.

Also maybe this means Spurs properly push for Savinho now.

So as to why I'm not on an Arsenal forum - well, imagine the most annoying Arsenal fans you've encountered. Then imagine a forum full of them. So that's why.

Then as to why I'm here - in general this is a good bunch - it's a City forum but you don't have the same cult-like indoctrination you find on many other clubs' forums, plus City fans in general (apart from the real young-uns) have been through thick and (very) thin in the last 20 years or so and as a result tend to be a lot more grounded and not entitled.

So it works for me. I'm a Gooner but it's not life or death for me if we win or not and I don't want to talk about football in an echo chamber which is what would happen on an Arsenal forum.

Fair enough pal.

Great signing for them, they have different options in midfield now, they can play Eze, Odegaard, and Rice against a low block, and Rice-Zubimendi-Odegaard/Eze against better teams

Time for Martinelli to learn Arabic I reckon.

The best thing about this is Liverpool fans having a total meltdown on reddit after seeing Arsenal strengthening and Isak looking like its off the table. Liverpool reddit looks like nuclear waste right now.

Anyway that's a good signing for Arsenal and they addressed their weaknesses.

They're just reinforcing their second position
Raya
White, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber
Zubimendi, Rice
Saka, Odegaard, Madueke
Gyokeres

Kepa
Mosquera, Kiwior, Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly
Norgaard, Merino (Zinchenko)
Nwaneri, Eze, Martinelli (Trossard)
Jesus

Very strong squad imo.

So is ours. IF we sign they two not here yet :-)

Think hes a top player and a great signing for them, much bettee than Madueke and think it signals Martinellis time up in the first XI

Eze is a good player of course BUT arsenal have to be able to get out of the way of themselves, if captain black sets them up in the same way he did against the rags nothing will ultimately change

I said this before the season started on this forum. Everyone twerking for Liverpool - their proper points tally is mid 80s. Both City and Arsenal score higher but both had a bad season last year.

Arsenal have strengthened and maintained their core strength (defence) so logically Arsenal resume their expected points tally of high 80s. Then over to City - the question was have they replaced the gap left by KDB (plus have Rodri coming back). The answer is probably yes - City's defence isn't as strong as it has been but if Stones remains injury free and Rodri comes back like the Ballon D'or Rodri that provides cover for the defence and a formidable midfield forcefield. But either way they get more points than the Dippers who will revert to their 'normal' 3rd place.

So it then depends on the new signings from both Arsenal and City. 1 match is too early to tell but early signs from City is that the new signings look fantastic. So it'll end up a battle between a free-flowing City who might ship a few goals in the process and a dogged Arsenal defensive unit who have strengthened up front but regardless won't score the same number of goals as City but will probably concede fewer as well.

As you allude to in the middle of this post, injuries, and recovery from those injuries, will play a major part. We've got loads, you've got loads but liverpool seem to have a full squad every week, especially key players. I know Van Dyke picked up an ACL a few years ago and look what happened to them but, apart from that, no injuries. Even allowing for inhalers etc, it continually amazes me.

Those are my thoughts exactly.

Is Lego head the right coach to bring the best out of attacking/flair players?

All the evidence so far is that he isn’t.
