It's Quiet the £250m return

I think very intriguing that Eze has gone to Arsenal because surely Spurs now turn back to Savinho.
You’d think so.

Reports were always they wanted both. Savio to replace son and Eze to replace Maddison and just add depth/a great player.

Could mean they pay up for Savio. But wouldn’t be surprised to see them go back in to the market as missed out on Eze

That January window looks more of a mess by the day. Only Marmoush out of the five players signed had any real impact in last season and all it's done is to bloat the squad size. Now Pep desperately wants players to go after another five signings so far this window. I'll leave it to the experts but I personally think it's been poor planning
Yes, apart from Marmoush, other signings look very bad. Money should have been spent on an RB rather than signing 3 CBs who are not in Pep's plans

Pep won’t be here forever the club needed to secure the future.

If Liverpool get Isak and Arsenal get Eze, the top 10 transfers in the PL will be solely between the 3 red cartel.

That is a story, with A Villa/ Newcastle singing PL corrupt as fuck etc.

The media should be running with it, somehow doubt they will.

Yeah but city might have paid Mancini an extra £3.75 a week more than we let on 12 years ago.

I think the exact opposite. I actually think the January window was the first window for a good few years where we have actually had a clear plan, and bought players for the future. We could've easily gone out and got someone like Murillo from Forest, but to bring in unknown quality like Reis and Khusanov showed to me that the board had a real plan in place to recruit for the future. It's not about the now as such, it's more about how the team looks in 2 seasons time.

This window has been the same, we've bought 4 quality young players for dirt cheap prices. To think Cherki was 29 million is hilarious when Ben Doak went got 25 million and Dewsbury Hall went for 28m, both of whom are around similar ages to Cherki.
Reijnders has gone for 1 million more than Jacob Ramsey to put it into perspective. Incredible business so far.

Annoying we were never interested, he’d have definitely improved us, he’s more effective than Savinho and Bernardo. Now yet another rival strengthens. Disappointing.
Can't buy everybody.

Savinho 21 = 13 Brazil caps
Eze 27 = 11 England caps.

Eze has had two good seasons of football at the top level but he's no world beater. Comparing him to a 21 year old Savinho who already has more international caps despite being 6 years younger is laughable.

Bernardo Silva, have you forgotten what Bernardo has done for us? Eze shouldn't be named in the same sentence, isn't fit to Polish Bernardo's boots ffs.

Eze is a good player but fuck me he's no world beater and if he was more clubs than Arsenal and Spurs would have been in for him.

Nothing like Odegaard mate.

Imo it’s a fucking superb signing for them.

I don't see it really, he's not a left winger, he's a 10/CAM with good vision, dribbling and shooting.

68 G/A in 169 games, he's 27. Maybe he's better than Martinelli right now, but he's just not on the level of Reijnders, Cherki, Wirtz for me. More of a Cunha, Mbuemo level guy.

Arsenal's problem isnt lack of talented creative midfielders. They play too safe, lack steel, the full backs are usually woeful tactically and they've bought an absolute battering ram of a striker that won't fit their style of play at all.

yes that January window was a bit of a panic mode mainly due to unreal injury situation on defenders, at the huge mistake of selling Alvarez but not replacing him. Marmoush would have been much cheaper 6 months earlier, of course with the sick output of G+A in first half of the Bundesliga added 25m to his price but Txiki only scouted that mediocre Kyogo from Celtic lol.

Reis, Khusanov, Bah while big potential, yet to be see what future they have at City. hope at least one of them is still part of the squad in 2-3 year time as a starting CB or 3rd CB as if they arent we surely need to spend big on replacing Ake, Akanji, Stones by that time.

I still have the feeling we may not expected rivals go out and spend as big as they did. while we did good summer transfer at good value, there is also a bit of too much dependence on players dictating our moves like does Ederson want to leave, does Savinho want to leave etc.

while others we may want to move on adamant on staying.

its clear Pep wants lower numbers, as he will face issues soon of selecting 20 players for match squad and leaving out some that are fit to play but just cannot fit into the 20.
I mean we wont need Ake, Akanji, Stones, Khus all on the bench when Gvardiol-Dias starts. also we dont need Kova, Gundo, Nico, Bernardo all on bench when Rodri-Reijnders start.

last week it was Rodri, Foden, Gvardiol, Kova, Savinho who missed out, but it was due to injury or not fully fit.
if any of them back for Spurs ad no new injuries, well already Pep has a hard decision to make.

I’m talking about this season. Bernardo offers almost no goal threat now, you don’t pick players based on what they did in the past, otherwise we’d still be lining up with Aguero and Yaya!

Eze is a more effective PL player now than Bernardo, he would have improved us. Not as good as Bernardo was but better now. As for Savinho, let’s see this season - he seriously needs to start contributing goals and assists. He offers almost zero end product.
