Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

I do because they are desperate now. Fans are calling for Levy's sacking and Frank Thomas must be angry as well. They bottled 2/3 Summer targets. Savinho is their last one.
Is he though? I heard Xaxi Simons mentioned earlier on SSN. I’ve no idea either way, but Sav certainly isn’t the only one getting named.

How does our reported option to recall Reis from his La Liga loan before January to play in the PL as an U21 work? EDIT (It's the Football Association of England & Wales btw )
Reis will need to be registered for CL.

He won't need to be registered so can play in PL if we bring him back at any time, even if we recall him before the February window (as far as I understand)

I should mention the same rules apply to the FA Cup and Carabao / League Cup as far as I understand.

Apologies for the mess of my post trying to explain. I will edit the last bit.

Actually was re-writing to help make clearer, but don't have the time.

It is confusing to explain because there are so many variables, but here's a link to UEFA's definitions:

"Who can be on List A?

No club can have more than 25 players on List A during the season, of whom at least two must be goalkeepers.

As a minimum, eight of those 25 places are reserved exclusively for 'locally trained players' and no club may have more than four 'association-trained players' listed among those eight places. If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players in their squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

What's a 'locally trained player'?

There are two categories:

1. Club-trained players who have been registered with a club for three entire seasons (i.e. the period between the first and last official match of the relevant national championship) or of 36 months between the ages of 15 and 21.

2. Association-trained players who have been registered with a club or with other clubs affiliated to the same association for three entire seasons (i.e. the period between the first and last official match of the relevant national championship) or of 36 months between the ages of 15 and 21.

What is List B?

A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2004 and has, since his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year. Players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption.

Each club must include at least two goalkeepers on List A and at least three in total (List A and List B combined).

Clubs are entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season, but the list needs to be submitted no later than 24:00 CET the day before a match."

Also here's an article from the PL on their rules:

"

What is a 'Home Grown Player'?

A "Home Grown Player" means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).

A club’s Under-21 players are not included on the 25-man squad lists. These players are also eligible to play in the Premier League.

What constitutes an Under-21 player?

For the 2025/26 Premier League season, Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2004.

To understand more what the squad lists look like, below are the ones submitted by clubs midway through last season, after the closure of the January 2025 transfer window."

On Reis why I believe he can play in the PL we recall him at any point.

He doesn't need to be registered as he's u21.

Even Echeverri, unless there's no recall clause which can happen especially when a fee is involved -- and this might be a rule, but I'm not sure, because my understanding is if a club pays a loan fee no recall clause is included, I THINK.

What we need mate is a wide man who scores goals.
We need a winger similar to Sane in his peak. A player who had pace to burn who scared the shit out of defenders and who scored goals and had an end product. Yes Leroy had the occasional sulk and the defensive side of his game wasn't great, but he was a top quality winger certainly a level up from either Doku or Savinho.

Trouble is there's not been as complete a winger as Sane at his peak since Sane at his peak.

Maybe Rafa Leao is closest but he's not half the player.
