Seen similar clips before, to be honest. But I'm amazed how presenters/newsreaders on TV can hold intelligent (well, what passes for intelligent in their world!) conversations with that constant chatter in their ear. With most of us, you'd be stopping/starting talking every few seconds to listen to your producer giving you instructions. Which would look dreadful on the telly.

I don't know about that. Ferdinand manages to keep talking gibberish whilst the producer, like everyone else, is presumably saying "shut up you ****".

Vaughan is a self confessed Rag
Vaughan is a Lancastrian. He knows it, but he does everything to make people think he's as Yorkshire as Fred Trueman and Dickie Bird, cos that's where he played.
Prick!!!!!
And this true Yorkshireman's son plays for.......
Somerset!!!!!!!

Oh and does he still live in Alderley Edge???

I'm in full agreement with you NN.

From 1958 through the 60s, 70s and late 80s there was a reverence surrounding the club which brought with it as you rightly say a groundswell of support from fans home and abroad.

This changed (in my opinion) during the inception of the premier league where the focus of the club transitioned from a less macabre and melancholy tone to one of youthful promise (class of 92) and ushered in the rise of the Phoenix so to speak.

The timing for them couldn't have been any better, the big money TV rights were starting to pour in and this famous and tragic English club that so many people had heard about was being broadcast to a wider audience.

Fast forward thirty two years and we now have a situation where any remnants of their past is fading expediently and (as you alluded to) with it any sentiment.

Of course the mainstream media will continue to work hard to keep them front and center, purely for financial gain by keeping the rhetoric alive and kicking. However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we see a decline from the media as we move into a more social driven media by much younger participants.

It's no coincidence that united's success began with the inception of the PL and Sky.

Don't forget Sky wanted to actually buy united but were prevented from doing so, instead they just did the next best thing and became their biggest unofficial partner... and Sky then used their power and influence to ensure united received favourable treatment from the PL, FA and PGMOL.

Modern day commentary ,it really is horrendous nowadays.I watch the game from kick off then mute it at half time.Back on again for the second half then off again at full time. Its just verbal diarrhoea and drivel nowadays ...I really just can't be doing with it .
What's annoyed me in just the last couple of seasons is the trend for commentators to now wildly overreact to every half/quarter chance.

Even when its a very tame shot and clearly going well wide or safely blocked by a defender or gathered by the keeper they still shout like it was a screamer heading straight for the top corner.

Surprise, surprise!!

Kickoff in 2 hours and the Rag cunts at the Daily United run with this headline story.

As we keep on say, it's an orcastraed campaign by the Red Shirt tabloids against the club and the team.

Compare that headline to the glowing headlines for Liverpool, Chelsea, and even United before their first home games last week.

Good job Kyle was made of sterner stuff and stayed all season to lick them into shape.

Only he doesn’t call anybody out. He says some big players were missing and with hindsight he shouldn’t have left when he did.

'But I felt, I don't want to say scapegoat because I don't want to bring out the violins. But I was the captain and the team wasn't doing well. There were big players missing in a big period in that season and I just felt like I was getting, not blamed. I won't say blamed but I felt I was the excuse because I was the captain.'

In retrospect, Walker admits that he 'probably shouldn't have left' City in the midst of their struggles.

'Should I have left the team, looking back at it? Probably not,' he added, 'I probably should have stuck by the lads and came through the sticky patch together. But sometimes selfishly, you look at yourself and kind of think. "okay, well, let me go and experience something different.'"

There’s something wrong with this guy.

Why can’t he just keep himself to himself…These constant interviews… Just shut up.

Jesus. He just does himself no favours at all.

Because his mouth is bigger than his cock, allegedly, and that takes some doing.
