82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

Not the first time we’ve seen that kind of goal conceded because he’s ball watching and slower than a corpse. Certainly won’t be the last if he continues to play.
I've seen milk turn quicker than Lewis back to goal. Fuck knows what hes doing in training to start.

I know Khusanov is learning English but I wouldn't care if he'd come from fucking mars - he should be playing in front of him.

I genuinely think Pep has a blind spot for this chancer. No pace, no ability to read the game, easily bullied off for ball and offers very little going forward. Said it before the start of the game to my mate that Spurs would attack his side of the pitch.

We should have snapped Forests hand off when they wanted this clown.

Genuine question, why? I don’t want to be rude and criticise fans like you but you seen how in 2022/23 season as soon as he was dropped from the squad we started to win again, same thing in 2023/24, and last season. He is a direct detriment to success. Is a player making it from the academy bigger than the success of the club?
Fans like me. Okey dokey. I don't think I've showed favouritism to academy players (see my James Mcatee posts). I think he's a good footballer. I think he has an eye for pass. He got caught today so often and was poor. Fans like me. Odd phrase

Well done sir. This exactly how I see it and can’t understand why some (including Pep) can’t. In the main, when he doesn’t play and we perform much better, surely it’s just a simple observation.

2 games in and we see the issue with Lewis - one that most fans on blue moon recognise - first game he has time and space and no defensive worries to deal with as Wolves were penned in deeper, he looked decent but you see most professional players at any level given time and space look great.

Second game he was pushed back, closed down and they had a specific tactic to switch play at pace - he couldn't deal with it, was dragged into spaces close to the centre backs and then panicked as he has not enough recovery pace (Kusa does Btw) to get out of the shit. You could say Ruben or John should have been telling him to keep in shape but he seems to be given licence to roam about - all in all he's not powerful enough to do that. Just compare him today to both Spurs full backs who created a lot going forward but never let us get behind them and that just left us hoping a loose ball in the middle would drop to Erling. Very poor that the club think it a good idea to give him 5 years....

You keep on saying “today he was bad” it’s not just today. It’s nearly every big game he’s in the team. You seen how good we are as a team when he’s dropped. Also “Eye for a pass” is crazy. John stones and Akanji have a better eye for a pass than this supposed CM

Fans like me I guess.

He's poor in every game against decent opposition. Unless you have world class ability like David Silva had you need pace and/ or physicality in this league and unfortunately he's neither and never will.

I am absolutely for alternate opinions to my own. You may well be right. It is hard to argue after today.

I said last season Spence was impressive and was laughed at. He’s a million miles better than Rico and would fit our Walker sized hole like a glove. Shame he just renewed.

The second biggest mistake in this clubs recent hisotry was giving him a new contract...only beaten by the mistake of playing him.

His normal defenders on here will be out in force but the simple brutal fact of it is he aint good enough....

The first goal he goes for the ball with the wrong foot...put a Sunday league fullback in that exact spot at that exact time and that ball is cleared away...Use the left foot
This is one of his common mistakes along with:
  1. Being blissfully unaware of who is on his out wide of him
  2. Losing the ball in midfield and being the direct cause of the counter attack against us
  3. being beaten at the back post consistently...If I was a centre forward for any team in the league the moment I saw my right winger pick up the ball Id pull onto the shoulder of Rico Lewis - he is so weak in the air.
  4. Having little creativity and losing the ball on the edge of the opponents penalty area...again being the direct cause of the breakaways against us
  5. Being unable to get back goal side of the attacker he is up against
Is Nunes any better - No

There are only 2 solutions at present - buy a right fullback who can defend r play Khusonov there.

Dont care if he is a city fan or if he has come through the academy. He aint good enough!

We had this at the start of last season - we improved when he wasnt in the team..

This isnt scapegoating him - there are other issues - but he is one of them
