Hugo Viana needs to get that on the first flight to Paris and get this guy immediately.Pep needs to change the system and fuck off this playing from the back
You may as well start following another team, 95% of teams play out from the back and Pep was the driver of it… we’re not going to change and we shouldn’t either, we just need to do it much better than we did today.

Donnarumma isn't going to save us or do any better than Trafford for us.

Have to just back Trafford or give Eddie a better contract!

WTF is PSG getting rid of him if he's so good? Reason is he can't pass for shit!

I don't know mate, I just think the system cost us a goal today and no keeper would be comfortable with that
That first one, even if he got a hand to it, was just typical awful defence on the counter attack.

The second one has to be hung on him. If you don't just want to hoof the ball, I get it, but you have to find a better pass than that. Absolutely no reason to pass to that man. If there's no option, then just get rid.

I'd rather have Pep yell at me at half time at 1-0 for not following the plan once than be 2-0 down for a mistake that's clearly on my head.

Yes! I want no part of Donnarumma. He's even worse than Trafford with the ball and Enrique is clearly wanting a keeper better with his feet!

The team just needs to gel and not put him in a spot of bother like Ruben did today.. but that's growing pains.. you figure out what your teammates can and cannot do.

I'd love if Ederson stayed on a new contract but if not.. keep Trafford as #1!

It started long before that. Mike Walker was having his Norwich team doing it in the early 90's. Wenger was doing it also.

I’m not saying he invented it, football goes through different fashions and phases. Since Pep came to the premier league there has been a huge emphasis on teams playing out from the back at all levels regardless of quality and most coaches are believe the benefits outweigh the risks - this is a result of our dominance under Pep.

I do think this is now changing again and teams will mix it up more, you can see it with Liverpool and PSG. I think it’s one of the main reasons Pep has brought Linders in.

Where did we get this idea that the GK just absolutely has to play to the defender on the first ball under Pep and he'll lose his shit if we don't?

The whole idea was just to retain possession. If we're doing that by playing it to the wingers, there's no issue.

Ederson has multiple assists going straight to the attacker. According to some people, that should be driving Pep insane.

The whole idea was making smart decisions with the ball and playing possession in favour of territory.

It's naive to assume that Donnarumma will be expected by management to be capable of what Ederson is. It's naive to think that they think Trafford has that capability. Ederson is an absolute unicorn in that respect. Donnarumma is perfectly capable of not teeing up a Spurs player from the penalty spot. Which for me is an acceptable trade off for not being able to assist Haaland.

The team has never just been about "playing from the back". It's just been about retaining the ball to dictate tempo. What Trafford did today for the 2nd was just a poor decision and a poor read of the game.

You play out through the back when it's safe to do so, not just because you feel you have to. Just like Ederson played the long ball because an attacker was capable of receiving the pass with minimal work, not because he just wanted to go route one.
