The performance was a shock today.Pep has proved people wrong many times, he had one poor season last year that’s it. The recruitment was shite and he definitely trusted some of the old guard too much, but that’s not only him - that’s Txiki, Ferrari, Khaldoon… they’re all involved in that side of things.
I think when he leaves he will leave us with a young squad who are set up for long-term success, he won’t prioritise short-term success at the risk of jeopardising the club’s future - the opposite of what Ferguson did.
The transfer window has been good, last weeks performance was great, a lot of noise coming from players and coaches has been positive - today was poor yes, but there’s still plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
Last week was positive against a really poor wolves.
The last 2 seasons were turgid, yes we won the league in one of them but we were the best of a bad bunch.
I dont see why hes going to suddenly change his style when prem football has evolved away from his style. Why will he suddenly go against all his principles that hes held since a player under cruyff.
I admire your optimism. But football changes very quickly and there has been precious few top managers who change with it.
They have their time in the sun, and then its gone
