Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

I dunno how much he has left in him here. He looks like a ghost of the determined guy losing his shit at our boys after a win. This next month or so could be a huge turning point for him here.
 
Not Pep’s fault today. What more could he have done? He picked a lineup that is more capable than the performance they put out today. We all know that.
Pep couldn’t tell the pitch to be better conditioned nor could he tell our players to do the basics better

Yeah the players dug in and got us over the line but the excuse was it’s hard to keep going year after year last year the excuse was injuries and this year will probably be to many new players. Ive said for over a year now, he still has the clout to attract top talent. Reijnders and Cheeki being 2 examples. But as a tactician, i personally haven't rated jim in 2 seasons.

He could of tried different tactics rather than the same bullshit with a keeper that can’t kick a ball

There seemed to be an issue with players slipping today.
 
No fire in the team. No criticism. No passion.
They were better. We will learn. Next please. Like a charity.

Only thing specifically Pep's fault were the first subs. We started to build a bit of momentum but Bernardo and Doku took us backwards.
 
Pep isn’t to blame for the two serious defensive cock ups . He can’t be blamed for the missed chances. Can’t also be blamed for the team selection as most fans were excited when the saw the team sheet. The bottom line is Spurs out ran and out fought us. In the long term we may have only just bought good players not great ones. We’re we’re used to having world class players but only have Rodri now. ( Erling world class goal record but not in team play). Very early days and Pep will sort it out.

Main mistake was that we don't have players / resource to play 4-3-3 system..

And this was visible 3 months ago, when we were humiliated in Club World Cup and even Al Hilal could win against us, simply catching us during transitions and if Al Hilal could do that with Malcom, why Tottenham couldn't with players like Kudus and Johnson or Porro.

If we look at our squad and players capable to play classic fullback / winger positions: Rico, Ait-Nouri, Savio, Bobb, Doku. That's it, even battling for relegation team won't envy us...

There was time when we had: Walker, Cancelo, Mahrez, Grealish

Comparing these to that is blasphemy. Well, maybe they lacked intelligence and couldn't play chess, but were pretty decent footballers.

Therefore, we have no luxury to continue playing 4-3-3..

We need at least 3 pure centre-backs to start, in 2022/2023 for example, we started CL final with 4 centre-backs.
Today we started with Ruben and John..

Also we can't use Marmoush and Haaland together in 4-3-3 as both of them need to play centrally.
It's like Julian Alvarez. if we played 4-3-3 when Alvarez was here, he would struggle like Marmoush struggled today, because he wasn't a winger or midfielder, needed that exact 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 formation to shine..

I love Pep but Pep needs to go lock himself in a room again and come out with a system that allows Trafford to be #1.

Because Ederson is one in a billion! He's the Messi of goalkeepers!

You're not going to find another keeper as good as him.. you're just not!

And what is the exact point of playing a square pass inside the 6 yard box with ultra fast pressing forwards there ready to pounce? Have we not learned enough from Foden's mistake against Arsenal or Nunes mistake vs Bournemouth.

People will blame Trafford, but the mistake is Ruben trying to do that. Absolutely braindead move.. something I would never expect of Ruben with his vast experience but it's either him or it's Pep's instructions.. Whichever it is.. Pep needs to tell him to cut it out!
