CL League Phase Draw 2025/26 | Fixtures (pg 32)

You don’t get home and always against the same sides any more remember.
But we will have a home game against a pot 4 side and the club will have to price it differently if it's Kairat or Paphos compared to Galatasaray or Monaco.

Just saying on the other CL thread that those away days will be high demands due to them being new destinations to visit, but the allocations will be tiny.

City deep down will be hoping we don't draw any of those teams because the marketing to sell them out at home will have to go into overdrive.
Or they could price it sensibly! - Yeah, I know this isn't the joke thread.

makes quite a difference if you play Monaco and Bilbao or Newcastle as your weakest opponents of the 8, or Pafos or Union SG.

we really need to be ready very early on and try to make sure to get 16 points or more. 16 points is about the limit to get the top8 which comes with all kinds of advantages.
but 16 points can be done by 3/4 teams so goal difference is the deciding factor, better to do 17 points, that is imo 99% getting top8.

not easy tho, depends on the draw, 5 wins, 2draws, 1 loss is what gives 17 points. or 4 wins, 4 draws gives 16 points (or 5/1/2). Anything less than 4 wins is poor. it would also means we are not in a great form which doesnt bode well for the league either.

nobody wants those extra two games in February and the risk of not even getting last 16 due to it. last season out of the heavy hitter us, Real, PSG, Bayern all had to play those extra games and it cost us big time as we faced Real. PSG only faced their league rival Brest and even Bayern had some funny moments vs Celtic but of course no surprises there. of curse for PSG with zero competition in their domestic league they can focus more on CL while English sides come out of the winter period brutal tired with little break if any and quite serious competition around top6.

Only Liverpool got 7 wins last season in league stage, Barca, Arsenal, Atletico, Inter all managed to get 6 wins so why Pep couldnt do it?
hope those games vs Sporting, Juventus, Feyenoord has been analyzed to death as lot of errors, mistakes we did there still exists based on the CWC loss vs Saudi side and now Spurs.
we aint gonna get anywhere if we dont learn from our mistakes and put it right.

Go to 99% of all games midweek games at the Etihad have gone past pricing being an issue for us a 2 hour drive to do 28 miles for something I don't enjoy the champions league experience at home ,dropping out of the cup scheme and just going to do the aways regardless of getting a ticket or not .

Is it two from each pot we play can’t get my head around this new format

both me and my brother who is a gooner follow Paphos results due to spending so much time there in the past.

I'd be gutted if Paphos dont get the chance to play an English side in the group stages
There is every chance Paphos will get an English side.

58.33 per cent chance getting at least one English team from 'pot 1' alone.

I'm no maths expert AI told me !!!

Would be my personal preference for a few interesting but winnable homes and aways with decent venues and chances of tickets for aways.

The football cycle comes round very fast.
Mid March I’m always looking forward to a rest from it all.
Late August I can’t wait for these cup draws just a few games in!

Statistically more likely to draw PSG and Inter, Benfica and Brugge, first 2 pots, but 3 teams equal chance in pot 3 and 5 in Pot 4.

Two teams from each pot, play one of those at home and one away for a total of 8 games.

As our name is drawn, the computer will immediately give us the 8 teams and which ones we play at home and who we play away. The dates and times will only be confirmed on Saturday though.
