Ederson | Deal agreed with Fenerbahce

Shouldn't be baffling, it has clearly been explained that whilst young he has won an under 21 international tournament in which he played a big part. Had a season in the premier league and made over 150 fist team appearances so far. He is very experienced for his age. I listed the areas of his game and what is "ready" or not. He won't get any better with the ball at his feet and that is the only downside of his game for me as he is a great shot stopper. Using your logic, I am wondering how Ederson has got worse with age...
Im aware he is experienced for his age, i said as much myself. You keep saying that because he has some good experience at a young age, he isn't going to gain even more and improve further, which makes zero sense.

The knock on effect of this will be Donarumma will end up at the Salford scum.

His old school ‘catch the ball and welly it upfield’ style might not suit us but he’d improve those cunts immeasurably. They desperately need a no nonsense proper keeper in the De Gea mould. Last night is testament to that.
As a player/manager at the rate things are evolving over at the toilet.

Hugo is just playing hard ball. We will get our Donner at last orders. If Gala won’t play ball we will just sell Ederson to Saudi once the window is closed.

Not a lot of teams interested. He didn’t bring the deal, so he’s here for another year, unless he wants to buy his contract out.

Jacks new article makes me think that Trafford is here to be the long term replacement to Ederson. Donnarumma doesn’t make sense with what he’s said seems like from Jacks Article Ederson going is the plan

How could you possibly know whether his head is in it or not, unless you’vecspoken to him, watched him in training you can’t know anything. I do know who will have spoken to him and watched him training though, and they don’t seem in any particular rush to move him out.
Because i have eyes and don't have my head in the sand and pencils up my nose…

Whilst I have no problem with that in theory, reality is that is an outdated view. £30m is a figure you spend on taking a punt nowadays. The market has jumped exponentially this decade. A lot of people, myself included sometimes, will still see £30m as a major investment having been used to seeing that kind of money being world record levels but it just isn't a lot anymore when you've got multiple hundreds of millions in budget every season. Dippers just signed a keeper for more money precisely and purely to be their second choice for the forseeable.
Think that is a poor comparison in fairness. Mamardashvili is a first choice keeper for his country, played in an international tournament and did well. He was also number 1 for one of the biggest clubs in Spain(granted they are struggling these days), and has plenty of top flight experience in one of the best leagues in the world. He might be number 2 to the best keeper in the league, but on paper I'd say he's less a risk than Trafford. Most of Traffords experience is lower league and his one experience last time in the premier league was a disaster to the point he was dropped for the lad Muric. I personally think the whole situation is a mess. I don't think Trafford is ready, bit after Saturday would dropping him destroy his confidence completely? It's a hard one.

I wasnt comparing the two on their ability, I was simply using him as an example of a team spending more than £30m on a second choice keeper, somebody they dont expect to play more than maybe a dozen games as a counter to the suggestion £30m should buy you somebody ready to go.

I'm not on about ability mate. Liverpool have bought and experienced international as number 2 who if Alisson got injured for a while looks able. We have bought a lad whose made most of his appearances outside the top flight. 30m punt or not seems a lot on someone whose only top flight experience was an disaster to the point he was dropped. If Eddie stays(which looks likely)and was to get injured for a sustained period I'd have my worries.

Trafford is a victim of circumstance obviously the fee we paid means we saw him as our future No1 after Eddie let at the end of the season, but nobody expected a goalkeeper of Donnarummas standard being on the market at the price he is. Forget the he can't play out with his feet arguement not many goalies can that well, we just had an exceptional one of a kind mad arse goalie that could! We would be stupid not to get Donna, proven pedigree against, well potential in Trafford and we can't let pedigree go past us .
