Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Would Ortega as our number 2 and Trafford our number one and we just let Trafford improve with us next two seasons or so be a thing Man City pep would do? That’s is if the window shuts Ederson still here and then Galatasaray make a bid we would except? Because there window is open longer than ours

Still gets done imo. PSG will practically give him away on deadline day to get him off the wage book which is probably what Viana is banking on. At the same time we will end up doing the same with Ederson which is what Galatasaray will be banking on.

And it does look like both keepers are themselves aware of it and comfortable in their position of 'limbo'.

Saudi window doesn't close until the 10th Sep, Turkey the 11th of Sep hence we can do the deal for Donnarumma and take a chance Ederson will end up in either of the leagues

Disagree mate, we are in the worst position here as the Turkish market closes 10 days after ours. They are stringing us along for Ederson who they want for virtually nothing. City don’t want to pay a massive fee for a player that will be out of contract in less than a year. But when you consider some of the money we have pissed away it’s a travesty that we haven’t put our hands in our pockets for Donnarumma.
It's true their window ends later so they can still get another GK in, in that time frame but if they want Eddie they'll know have to do it during our window as City will just close the door on him going after Monday.

Lot’s of moving parts to this deal and as other have said it’s got deadline day written all over it. Just got to hope there’s no cock ups on the day which has happened in the past.

Donnarumma is levels above Trafford at the moment for me, really hope it happens.

If we don’t shift Ortega we will be left with 4 goalkeepers come Monday - if Ederson has told the club he wants out I don’t see why we would stand in his way even after our window shuts. I think we have tried to box smart here but we’ve backed ourselves into a corner. We will have to cough up for Donnarumma and accept a nominal fee for Ederson to get this done for deadline day.

Pep has shown what his goalkeeper hierarchy is against Spurs with Erderson favoured ahead of Ortega on the bench.I just don't see Ederson leaving at all after Mondays deadline.

You could be right in fairness mate. It would be a mistake in my opinion to allow Donnarumma to slip through the net - Ederson has been a great servant to the club but it’s clear his time is up now and he wants to leave. It’s a crying shame that we aren’t making this happen (seemingly)

Ederson's recent post on Instagram was pictures of his family together, (incidentally in the UK), with the caption “I just need this and nothing else". Vianna seems to be playing poker with PSG and Galatasaray? I hope we don't regret it...

Completely agree with you there. I still think it can happen. It's just too quiet atm. With Savinho, City have used the media to end all the speculation on that saga. They've haven't said a word on this. The uncertainty around this is more damaging than any uncertainty around Savinho leaving so for them to not nip it all in the bud means it has to be still very possible.
