bit of squad politics again, who is left out of the squad of 20, it was Ortega, Gundo, Akanji last week. if its same three, thats a big message to them. kind of like you can stay but watch it on the telly.

and thats even with Savinho, Gvardiol, Kovacic all out injured. maybe Gvardiol can make it tho not sure.

Key issue for me is, re the RB position, what was it that Kyle Walker did for all those seasons that made him so effective and reduced concerns about that position. I think its that he overlapped to provide width and stretched the attacking line, and he was super quick to get the whole team out of trouble when there was a turnover.

Makes me laugh bluemoon. We do post after post, page after page spouting expert bollox on every transfer, tactic, mistake, etc etc, then our manager has a press conference about an actual game coming up - and there’s 2 posts!!! Madness

Trafford
Lewis Akanji Dias Stones Ake Dias Khusanov Ait-Nouri
Rodri
Haaland

Only way we wont concede. :)

Sorry, nothing to do with this match. But it wasn't worth starting a new thread just for this. I've just got a ticket for the Everton match (closest to the pitch that I will have ever sat — third row! — I'll probably be able to smell their jock straps).
If on the OS it does not say “Fixture time/date to be announced”, does that mean that it is determined, graven in stone, and will not be moved? As announced, it is currently at 15.00 on 18th October. The question is important, because a) I'm going to go ahead and buy Eurostar tickets without hanging around, to get over to London and b) I'm going to buy return Avanti tickets up from London on the assumption that k.o. is when they say it is. And that I can aim at getting return train at about 18.00 or shortly thereafter.
The closer we get to the date, the more those prices will move, in both cases. If they moved the match to the Sunday I'd be really, properly fucked (and thoroughly pissed off).
Thanks for any info and confirming this, if you're certain. Much obliged…

Ederson

Nunes Stones Gvardiol Ait-Nouri

Rodri Reijnders

Foden Cherki Marmoush

Haaland

That's about our best team I reckon

Jury is still out on Marmoush in that position. Still think Jack would've been good there in this 11 but hey ho.

Jury is still out on Nunes as a RB too but he is a far better option than Lewis. Wouldn't mind Khusanov there either, to deal with Mitoma.

The rest would be certainties for me.

We'll probably play Bernado and Gundo in the middle now ha.

TV games already picked for that weekend - so no reason why 3pm kick-off should be moved.

Ederson
Nunes
Stones
Dias
Ait-nouri
Nico
Bernardo
Reijnders
Foden
Doku
Haaland.

A proper could go either way tie this. We could just as easily win 4-0 as lose 4-0.

If we carry on with the suicide high line with no pace and the slow build up. It's more likely to be the latter.

Trafford starts for me. I think it would be a mistake to drop a young player, who’s just made his home debut after one game/ one error.

Stick with him and let him learn from it. Just like we did when Ederson first joined
