I have a very good feeling about this game.

This would be my starting team to give us a little more physicality in the centre.
It is not what I predict the lineup to be!
I assume that Gvardiol and Phil remain unfit.

I’ll be watching from behind the sofa if that’s the starting 11
 
With Brighton being my closest side I watch a lot of their matches. They are not in a great way themselves with options very limited up front and their manager seemingly reluctant to bed in their new signings.

In pre season and against Fulham Brighton utilised a very high line. If they do that tomorrow then city will absolutely rip them apart. Dunk is likely to start so he should certainly be targeted due to his lack of pace. Wieffer is likely to play rb and again doku if he plays will get plenty of joy against the makeshift right back.

Mitoma and especially minteh are extremely dangerous on the wings and will need to be managed well. But given the lack of attacking options I just can’t see Brighton troubling city too much tbh. Wellbeck is likely to start through the middle with o’reilly operating in the 10.

I expect a fairly tight game to begin with city then taking control and scoring a fair few goals due to brightons high line.

0-3 city winners.

On an unrelated notes my son (city mad) is a Brighton mascot for the day. He cannot wait to shake the city players hands!

Maybe move Reijnders to cheekily position and Gonzales besides Rodri to start more defensively

I don't see how any City fan can have a very good feeling in the aftermath of a quite comprehensive home defeat. That you have selected a different team to the one you expect to play, and that you have raised concerns about the physicality of our midfield, suggests to me you are wearing City blinkers. I say that because I often wear them.

Rodri is fit but not match-fit. Pep has said that he's going to be very careful over minutes for Rodri. I don't think he will start Rodri but withour Kovacic we are struggling in that position.

I understand the temptation to play Marmoush but one of the problems Pep has is in devising a set-up that makes se of Marmoush and Haaland. Marmoush as a left winger is a massive waste imo.

But when does Rodri ever start then? He`s actually been training solid for around 8 weeks again and even if it was 60 minutes he has to build up his match fitness before the rags, arse etc?

I don't think the defeat was comprehensive.
We created enough chances to at least draw the game, but I felt that the combination of Cherki and Reijnders in central midfield was not as solid as I would wish. I feel Cherki is more of a 10 than 8, and Reijnders more of an 8 than 6.

The selection of Khusanov at the back is that I feel he represents the best combination with Lewis.

I don't expect that O'Reilly will start, but he is the only player in my lineup that I don't absolutely expect to feature.

I think this is a quite possible lineup.
It is similar to mine with the difference of Bernardo to O'Reilly, which I think is likely, and you have chosen Nunes over Lewis.
 
I suspect it will be something like:

Trafford
Nunes Stones Dias RAN
Gonzalez Rodri
Bobb Reijnders Marmoush
Haaland

That is assuming Gvardiol and Foden aren't fit and Ederson is on his way out. I guess Bernardo might start in place of Rodri if he isn't fit enough to start. Cherki could start instead of Bobb and Doku in place of Marmoush.
 
Can’t imagine Rodri will play many minutes given he’s being handed over to the national squad where he’ll no doubt have to play the full match plus intensive training.
