Honestly i can see Donnarumma staying at PSG and agreeing a contract with us in January. He will play cup games at PSG but also internationals with Italy. He's on a big wage as well. If he just wants us then I can see him just sticking it out. He's not going to lose his place in the national team so he can afford to just stay

£100m+ on Rice.
£120m on Wirtz.

Spent a big chunk of £100m on Reis, Gonzalez, Khusanov, who don’t play and even if they did wouldn’t be as effective as either of the two above.

Mostly we get transfers right, but recently it does feel like we back off the very, very best if another club bids higher. That won’t keep us at the top.

One explanation might be that City are delaying the Ederson transfer as long as possible so as to extract better terms for the purchase of Donnarumma. I believe that Gala's interest in Ederson is real because City would have killed talk of this transfer if there wasn't any basis to it, and Gala would have bought another keeper. Trafford has also started the first 2 games and Ederson was reportedly ill for the opening game at Wolves. That all adds fire to Ederson-Gala transfer negotiations being real.

The entire goalkeeping set-up at City is a mess as we also have Ortega whose contract is due to expire next Summer. Perhaps it is Donnarumma to City that is the domino that will trigger moves for Ederson and Ortega, or perhaps it is something else? I don't know. I can only speculate.

I hope for Donnarumma as Ederson will leave in the Summer if not now, and Donnarumma performs miracles but I also like Ederson very much. if Ederson remains a Manchester City player, than I very much want him to be restored as City's no. 1 when this window closes.

At the moment I'd say Wirtz doesn't look better than Cherki, certainly not better than Reijnders. I think Reis, Gonzalez, Khusanov will look like very shrewd bargains in 2 years.I can't wait to see this new young squad develop, with signings more like PSG than Madrid.

You on about the Wirtz who cost more than Cherki and Reinjders combined, who has made absolutely 0 impact in 3 games and not looked physically up to the premier league standard?

All while Cherki and Reinjders have scored goals and made an impact in less playing time.

Mate, I’ve been at both our games this season and I’m going to Brighton tomorrow so yes I have seen them play.

This is quite honestly the dumbest thing i have ever heard from galetti, so they are saying that they want 25m from us but are happy to let him go to gala for nothing on the pretense that gala might theoretically sell him at some point in the future and psg will recoup their money in that way, there is so many holes in this i dont even know where to begin.

yawn, heard this so many times, posters with low post counts who conveniently come on to tell how shit city is and about how everything is wrong blah blah rinse and repeat but have been to all our games and know everything about football, its almost a template at this point and they will reply to this saying theyve been a fan for years yada yada yada same shit different day.

Not convinced this is true. I think they fully intended Trafford to be number 2 and got him now primarily because he’s a capable English passport who can cover for ederson in the domestic cups or in case of injuries. They probably thought if he turns out to be excellent in those cups then they buy themselves a year to decide if he’s good enough to be number 1. If not he either stays as no.2 or they flip him in 12 months and at least get their money back.

Ive said many times my view is that this is Peps final year regardless of what happens and I think he was always going to want an established keeper who’s played at highest level. Either Ederson or Donnarumma will be no.1 and one of them will start vs United.

Players are human. When they wait in the dark on the last transfer day, feeling uncertain, insecure, or believing a promise has been broken, they may react unpredictably and shock everyone.
