Saved me posting something similar. Standards at the club, on and off the pitch, including the seeming disdain for our core support, have dropped alarmingly. And I've been closer to the club than most over the last few years. We've become mediocre at everything we do.
 
Things are clearly not the same as 12-18 months ago do we say pep & Co should go, or do we not say they still have enough credit to carry on until the end of this season and see what happens the latter is what I say.
I've been watching city for over 50 years and seen it all, but I have to say watching this squad lose games is harder to take than I can remember because we all know what they are capable of, when we watched Alan balls ( or insert any numer of shite previous manager ) team lose it was expected almost and not a shock, you excepted it.
 
The title ship has realistically sailed, you need 90ish points most likely. So throwing everything out the pram is probably pointless now.

It's sad that's it's come to this. Our greatest ever manager and the fan base are now split whether he should stay or go. I wish it could just be positivity until the end. Even if he has to pack it in if gets too bad.

Im not coming in as a saint or a rational voice in this debate as I've seethed about our downfall since we lost the first fa cup final and we haven't really recovered. You can't lose 2 fa cup finals on the bounce and expect it to be smiles and waves, this is my personal hang up.

Added to the frustration mix the debacle with tickets, away fans and barbers in the home end, us being stuck with the same songs about players who left a decade ago, the distaste many have about steward behaviour and lack of protection from kopite violence.

Tbf, it will probably happen "organically" anyway. That is probably how the owners will handle it if they think a change is needed. Bergiristain is gone. Soriano is 60 soon, and I doubt Guardiola will renew again when his time is up (assuming he doesn't quit earlier) with the way it's all going.

Surprised that everyone is so accepting of cycles in a team's dominance but dismiss cycles with a management team. A management team that is successful and feels secure is, after all, most likely a complacent management team.

But that wasnt how it was. We were absolute top tier in EVERYTHING

Ive said i know people who are in the know before now, obviously wont say who or what. But i was told soriano is very much at the fore of seemingly alienating our fan base , the words used were “a miserable penny pinching bastard”. Dont know about any dealings youve had with him?

I knew id get dogs abuse for posting what i posted but like you, i probably have a better idea than most about the inner sanctum of the club.
Eye brows were very much raised regarding peps behaviour last year by lets say those just below the top dogs but the top dogs seem in under peps power too. Very much an old school chums act

Im not a pep fan, or a khaldoon fan, im a city fan and i am allowed to question what goes on.

Had no dealings with him, which speaks for itself. He never attended a City Matters meeting in the 4 years I was there. He's never come out and spoken to the fans. That alone sums him up.

I've also heard he's not popular among the staff and that it's like North Korea where if you don't follow the party line you're out.

There was at least one occasion when I was on City Matters where we reached mutual and a very reasonable agreement with Danny Wilson on something and Soriano knocked it back without any explanation. I've no doubt he doesn't give two hoots about us fans. I've never met him but I absolutely loath him. As I've said before, I know for certain that he even overruled Khaldoon on price rises, which makes me even question Khaldoon.

The most annoying of all the happy clapper thinkings. The title was won with months to spare, ditto second spot. Those teams had the foot off the throttle.
Are we still top of the calendar year ? Not that I care anyway as it is nonsense.

Most annoying is people inventing things to suit their agenda I work with facts happy clapped my arse Second spot wasn’t clear at all we could have finished second the result at Southampton fucked that up, no one aside from maybe LFC took their foot off the gas. The point about calendar year, that has gone over your head, is it a measure of how Pep did have more than one plan and he adapted to get us UCL qualification and could have won the FAC
With 3 games left so Arsenal took their foot off the gas

We undoubtedly picked up more points however I'd contend the performances hadn't improved all that much and we were a long way below our admittedly high standards. Something is seriously wrong at the club. Theres little doubt about that and I have no belief that Pep can turn it round.

Well we didnt win the fa cup, we lost with a whimper to …. Palace.

Im Glad youre happy with how things have gone the last 2 seasons…. And how bright the future dimly looks

All what i have heard.

People moan like fuck on so many matters about how the club treat the long term fans but wont hear a single bad word against the top brass when people question them. Makes no sense really

You mentioned north korea, bang on, too many fans are blind to the wrong doings of the powers that be. Must make them massive blues i guess

We were once the coolest set of fans with the thickest skin in the country. We were realistic and supportive. We were defiant and loyal.

These days, if we aren’t looking like doing a PL+CL double, 85% of the fanbase’s heads fall off and they want everyone to fuck off out of the club.

We’ve played four games including pre-season so far. Most clubs had played that many games by the time we played Palermo in the first of our four. Let’s see where we are by about the end of September before we start getting silly.

In one of those two seasons we won the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, a record fourth league title in a row and soon after the Community Shield.

To win that league title we went unbeaten in our last 23 games, winning 19 of them, including all of the last 9.

Yeah we were shit in the FA Cup final against the Rags and after the injuries starting piling up last season we were woeful, ending that season with another shit FA Cup final… but that’s all only been in the last 15 months, mostly last season with one game from the previous season, not two seasons.
