You can have an opinion on whether Guardiola’s tactics are correct or whether his style works but when you have a manager so wedded to one way of playing then for 3 seasons buy players that can’t play that way. After a while it will turn to shit.

Take Trafford yesterday made some great saves but he is so unconvincing with his feet that it doesn’t help our all round game and we look shakey for it. Even Haaland great goalscorer but can he keep possession, no. We covered it with having 10 other players who could but now we don’t have that and it shows.

Bollocks, every club seem to play out from the back well enough, despite being no where near quality of ederson, but he wants out. This guy will do fine
 
Only thing I can think with Donnarumma coming is we are going for a more PSG style of build up from the back, did see that sort of yesterday with Rodri dropping deep to take the ball of Trafford.
 
So the big question…is a new keeper the last signing today?

I doubted Donnarumma would get done when Gala pulled out but City had Fener waiting in the wings so you never know I suppose.

We had a 3rd choice keeper coming to the end of his contract and 2 others with a year left, that would leave for free next year and both need replaced, with their replacements wanting to be no.1.

Replaced the 3rd choice with a free HG option happy to be 3rd choice.

Bought a CT keeper with lots of promise capable of being no.1 with a bit of time, for a buy-back we had the option of. Without affecting squad spaces. Allowing us to then sell one of the other 2, possibly preferably Ortega. Which would have left Eddie and Trafford for the no.1 spot, and when Eddie leaves next year, Trafford either ready to take it, or sign another top keeper.

Eddie wanted out, and found a club, we found an available top keeper to replace him. The rest was all in whether the finances stack.

Does still leave us with Ortega as an extra 4th keeper, but there is lost of the day to sort that, or he or betinelli don't get registered. Depending on other nhg outgoings.

A very good player and an absolute beast conditioning wise. Not got an exotic enough sounding name for most on here though mate.

Exactly. That’s why they shouldn’t be here. For years and years we’ve put up with their injuries. Imagine the wages we’ve spunked on those 2 while they’ve been unavailable. It’s like we never learn. A player who is only available for half a season is no use to anyone.

I would be in favour of such a signing as we need a bit of physicality and energy in the middle. Bernardo and Gundogan both look shot, Kovacic is injured and Guardiola seemingly doesn't trust Gonzalez that much.
