Get to fuck ????

Pep head has gone, why sign Trafford and make him sit on the bench

Well Carson isn't here anymore and Ederson is off and Ortega's contract is up at the end of this season.

So we would be left with one keeper at the end of the season without Trafford being brought in now.

I don't think Trafford was ever brought back to be nailed on no.1 keeper.

The club has had a similar attitude and that’s why we are in the shit we are in. It’s the going from Walker and Cancelo to Rico and Nunes. The Phillips is a decent back up to Rodri. The Gundogan can come back and do a job. The Bernardo will be a good captain. Crazy and/or penny-pinching decisions, that have seen us go from domination, to also-rans in the space of a couple of years. Whatever people think of Trafford, putting him number 1 now, is a massive gamble, for the club and for him. We can’t afford any more gambles, we’ve been doing it for too long and it’s not paid off.
Apart from one dodgy pass, Trafford has shown what we need in a GK that we haven't had for a bit. Good shot-stopper, some class saves yesterday and a good performance against Wolves. He'll need some time to settle in. You say its a gamble, Donnarumma is an Italian keeper, he'll be playing until he's at least 36, and by the time he's finished at City, so will Trafford, a top keeper who isn't going to want to sit on the bench for years, when he could get into the first team of any other PL club bar maybe 1 or 2. We can't waste another talent by signing someone who is renowned for being bad with his feet. All seems silly to me, 2 starters in one window.

So having 4 keepers in the squad is good when fullback are cover players

Well we went about 10 years without a left back, now that we've signed a left back it's time to go with the same method on the right back side...

SO you think all the other clubs and managers haven't learned from the past 10 years

I think it's a great signing. Trafford played well and is definitely one for the future, but Donnarumma is one of the best in the world and we'll benefit from having him in goal. He was key to PSG's CL success last season.

For all my doubts about this signing, I don't think he'll give a single shit about any media pressure.

He is replacing an absolute unique keeper that has been instrumental in a boat load of trophies who has a very different skillset. He will be absolutely aware that the spotlight is on him

Can understand concerns about his ability to play out from the back, but it didn't really hamper PSG last season. Am sad to see Ederson go, but once he decided he wanted out we had to get a world class replacement and I think Donnarumma fits that category and was available. He seems like a leader and will hopefully give some confidence to a squad who currently look bereft of it. Looking forward to seeing how he settles in.

Does anyone know how good Donnarumma's English is? Agreed we need leadership beyond Dias looking like the second coming of McManaman.

I think the prem has far more toxic scrutiny than any comp by a distance
It’s the most popular and the highest standard of domestic leagues but pressure wise it’s nowhere near the top.

Some countries have ultras at the training ground doing all sorts when they are unhappy. He played for AC Milan.

We've been following him since he was 16. So we have a long standing interest. I'm happy with the signing 26 , experienced and a leader. Exactly what we need, instead of bringing in projects we are bringing in a established player
