He isn’t to be fair.

Joe hart (premier league winner) wasn’t either.

I’m baffled by it to be honest.
Bravo was a Pep keeper and he was shite. Onana was touted as ball-playing (Pep-like) keeper and he’s even worse. Eddie not only was/is the best Pep keeper, he’s also the only one around, that’s been consistently any fucking good. I’m all for staying as we are, if someone can genuinely find the next Eddie and not the next Bravo or Onana. I’m guessing that nobody at the club, including Pep, has managed to find this person, so we are going in a different direction. I’m ok with it. I’m guessing Pep is too.

We have a very good alround replacement in Trafford...

What Donarumma gives us over Trafford in shot stopping we lose more in his lack of ability with the ball at his feet.

Pep is going to have to set up differently (and he acknowledged that at weekend when he said when we went more direct we werent prepared for the second ball).

Do we have the midfielders to compete to win the second ball...do they have the intelligence (like David Silva had to win the ball) cause they dont have the physicality - that is what we are now relying on happening.

Two good things about this signing:-

1) Farteta showed the Prem that pressing Ederson was a waste of time, thus affecting our build-up, now opponents will test the new GK thus opening up our build-up again.

2) Pep will sign another Italian player to "buddy up" with the GK in the locker room, hopefully an Italian hard nut full-back.

Pfft, we don't do full backs as well you know

Porto wanted 60 million euros for Diego Costa, the club did well to spend that amount on 22-year-old Trafford and 26-year-old Donnarumma
