Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Donnarumma is the best GK out of those but Lammens is a smart purchase on the same level of us getting Trafford. Both are young with potential to grow into great keepers. Onana is a bum, shame they replaced him.

If you read the BBC article on Lammens, he is a world beater at his age. What they forgot to really mention throughout the article and his stats, until pretty much the end of the article, even though it’s blindly obvious, was those stats were achieved in the Belgium league. Let’s see how he performs in the PL over a season. He will be in goals for United in the derby, that’s for sure.

He made the most saves of any keeper in Europe's top 10 leagues last season (173) and at an 80% save percentage. He was second only to Anderlecht's Colin Coosemans for goals prevented last season too.

His on-ball quality, however, is relatively untested given the Belgian opposition faced don't press as intensely as the forwards in the Premier League. Lammens opts to play long under pressure and places it in general areas his team-mates are in. His short passing is generally safe but not a stand-out quality at present.

Etc.

Obviously we don't know what was going on in the background, but i just feel this was a change/position that we didn't need to make.
Maybe Eddie saw his friends (and our biggest players) leaving one by one and thought he needed a new path?

Does anything think this signing is also thinking about the club when Pep goes. We’ve picked up one of the best keepers in the world at a small price and a good age. Pep won’t be here in 2 years time Donnarumma will be.

I'm not reading into it that far. Who knows where we'll be in 2 years, too far away imo.

No I’d say he is thinking about the club now

Eddie seems like he's had his foot out of the door for a while. At least the last two summer transfer windows there's been talks of him leaving and I think many expected that to be last year.

I'd have been happy for him to stay but at least he's been replaced by one of the very best in the game.

Donnarumma might be different type of keeper but I don't mind that, I'm actually excited by it. Things have been getting stale.

City just bought the “best goalkeeper in the world” for £13M net, and his back-up is the best young keeper in England who broke goalkeeping records last season.

I’d say we should be sorted between the sticks for the foreseeable.

Now, if we could just stop the 5 on 2 attacks that kill us, we might be in with a shout!!

Who the living fuk is fuking NOBBINS (on SSN as City fan ffs) You don't represent me you outrageous twat
Nobbins made a video giving his "opinion" of Donnarumma not being good with his feet. Presumably this was in response to the Typical City video showing that amongst the elite keepers over the last two years, statistically Gianluigi is the best, closely followed by Ederson.

The stats also showed Ederson wasn't as shit at shot stopping as many made out & that Donnarumma wasn't as shit with his feet as many made out.

What was weird was Nobbins putting more weight on his personal opinion than what the stats clearly showed. Donnarumma's now a City player, so we should all get behind him. We'll find out soon enough which out of Nobbins' personal opinion or Typical City's stats are correct.

I don’t know what the best player in the Bundesliga for 2 years has to do with Donnarumma who had bad years until January. You see the difference ? Also KDB wasn’t 26-27. there is a reason psg didn’t extend with „ the best goalkeeper in world „ . He isn’t. Courtois and Allison are better .

There is a reason, you’re right.

It’s because he rejected their contract offer.

Don’t try and pretend PSG didn’t try to offer him an extension, and were desperate to get rid.

Making shit up doesn’t strengthen your argument - it makes you look ill-informed and agenda driven.
