Not so sure it is that random. If Ederson wanted out then we needed a replacement keeper regardless.

I think he is a bit better shot stopper than Trafford and his distribution is on a par. Why buy the next long term England Goalkeeper as a no 2? We need strengthening in other areas before this. In addition he is in no way a replacement for Ederson. He is a completely different type of Goalkeeper and will do little for our ‘possession based’ football.
Obviously hope I’m wrong.

If we were planning big we wouldn’t have waited to the last few hours of the window.
 
Well apparently not good with his feet and a bit of a dracula. Playing behind a disorganised defence and disjointed midfield he looks certain to spend most of the season turning around to pick the ball out of his net.
 
Welcome to the club! Not going to solve much of our issuses currently but still one of the best goalkeepers in the world and hopefully helps us to win many more titles in the future.

This was always happening, we were just waiting for Ederson to move which wasn't happening quickly. Donnarumma din't get linked to anyone bar us and it would have been easy to link him with the Rags looking at their situation. That makes me think this was boxed off long back.
