Welcome Donnarumma!

I actually feel for Ortega. He deserves to be starting for a top team but now he’s number three for us.
No sympathy from me, had a load of offers this window and turned them all down. Thought he would show some ambition to get in the Germany squad but clearly rather sit at home on a weekend.

Absolutely baffling you’ve got a lot of city fans going he’s not good with his feet he won’t fit the system, that Nobbins is an idiot. Then on the otherside you have got rivals shitting themselves over how good he is and PSG fans practically crying in the replies to PSG goodbye post.

We’ve just signed the best keeper in the world who was instrumental in winning PSG their champions league. Highest save percentage last season , big game player , Captain of Italy. 26 years old hitting his prime. For 26 million pounds

He’s the best signing of the window. Value wise and quality wise.

Signing Trafford was not a fix as the Spurs game showed. He needs time to develop in less pressurised games.

Trafford is not going to do any developing as second choice. He'll be gone next summer if Donnarumma comes in and plays every game.

There's absolutely no chance he's signed up to be stuck behind a Donnarumma for 5+ years. Newcastle will probably make a bid in January.

I’m delighted the we’re going into the new season with Donnarumma and Trafford as our goalkeeping pair.

Trafford was probably expecting a season as second choice to Ederson.
Instead it’s to Donnarumma.

I was happy with Ederson and Trafford.

I loved Eddy but worried about his shot stopping sometimes and especially his penalty stopping. He is a legend for me.

I think we now have a much higher level of shot stopping.

Who knows Traffords cup form may displace Donnarumma, maybe not.

We as City fans look the winners here.

He is a quality keeper.
I would prefer us to trust Trafford as number one but James would have always expected to compete for his place - with Donna or with Eddie.
Good luck to him.

I’ll put £10 of mine against yours that he starts the derby.
Just looked, Italy play their last game on Monday, I was assuming it would be around the middle of the week, so looks as though he'll be here by Tuesday. Of course he's got to sort everything out off the pitch and we dont know what the training schedule will be. with us not playing until Sunday, I would revise my original claim of him maybe getting 1 training session in, seems as though there is enough time to get a couple. I'd still say it's a toss up whether he goes straight in though. Napoli seems like a safer bet to me.

But he did sign to potentially be stuck behind 32 year old Ederson for 5 years?

Obviously in the minority but I couldn't care less about how Trafford is feeling

If you're not willing to compete for your position you're at the wrong club
I care about how he’s feeling.

I hope his natural disposition sees him up to the challenge.

I hope he excels in cup games and whenever he’s called on. I think he has shown some excellent moments so far.

I hope he learns from Donnarumma and finds it within himself to replace him.

He is very firmly second choice.

Well if City were hellbent on making a marquis signing in this transfer window then Donnarumma would be as good as any to make .... probably the most noticeable, and arguably best goalkeeper in the world right now , and one who's only 26 years old too ...... he'll have his faults, like every other keeper, but this is a fantastic signing for City and a great addition to the Premier League ..... although that's probably the last thing James Trafford will want to hear after his excellentl showing at Brighton !
