The Squad planning thread

The collapse was bound to happen, with the past transfer windows and the age of the team it goes fast, for me two players is standing out for how important they where for us before they aged it’s Kdb and Walker

We had no creativety in the Brighton game and to be honest it’s has been last season aswell. We have no wingers that can score goals foden need to fins his way back ASP.

To much sideways passing we need a player who dare and see does passes that needs to be done to get chanses, we need wingers that run in the box create spaces both for themselves and for Haaland and to give the players oppertunity to make those plays

Is that to mutch to ask for?

Think both Reijnder and ait nouri will be good for are offense even Cherki to bad he got injured. The biggest dissepointment I have is that no right back And no goal scoring winger is bought.

Ait Nouri maybe not so much defensevly

We’ve got loads of dosh in the bank if needed in Jan, but we’re probably going to be out of it by then. And it needs to be better than projects and prospects
I imagine we’re waiting for 115 clearance to go full Brewsters Millions

To late now we have let the gap get to big no world class players we could sign in jan either.

Hopefully Donnarumma brings some extra presence and professionalism to the team asap. The collapse of the best team in the world in 2 years is genuine staggering

I'm not sure if is. In the history of English football how many teams have won the treble? How many have won 4 league titles in a row? We did both in the same period. The mental and physical output, setting those standards game after game was absolutely incredible.

It got to the point where everyone just expected us to win everything. But so much went into it. The board slipped up undoubtedly but there was going to be a blip at some point and I'm just glad for all the good things we did before it. And I trust we will be right back at it, maybe not this season, but in the near future.

I need Viana to cook up something crazy next summer.

Stones and Bernardo will have their contracts up. Kova, Ake, Jack and Akanji will have a year left and probably on the chopping block then.

Team will need heavy reinforcements.

Akanji and Jack no longer taking up squad places so won’t or can’t be replaced. The other 4 if they all go plus the 2 spaces we have mean we could bring in 6 but I’d expect some of those to go to returning 4 young loanees.

City still have third most valuable squad in the World and 27 players. 24 players in reality as Ortega Phillips and Esbrand were expected to leave and, in theory, still could.

We have some seriously good players on loan. I hope some make it with us.At the moment 28 players seems to be the average squad size in the PL so Pep has got his wish for a smaller squad it’s just that half the squad are already injured!

Echeverri, Reis, Nypan is a good direction to build for the future but also has to be said at any moment we can sell them for a profit. Nypan's parent shopped around for some time for their boy, we must have told them a great plan that he chose City.
Kovacic, Bernardo getting to their end at City soon, Nypan could fit in there, same with Reis as Stones, Ake getting close as well to leave soon.
Echeverri more in the Foden, Cherki role which is now taken by them.

if any of them has a great loan spell I am sure there will be offers from EL or even some CL clubs with good offers to make them regulars and thats when a big decision needed. we may sell them for a profit we seen it a few times.

Great post. We will definitely be back. Khaldoon will be watching Liverpool's actions and he will be seething. That's who he is. He's a man obsessed with winning. It's why we've set records and won all these trophies.

The club will already be planning for next summer.

So obsessed that he can’t see why we are playing bad ?

It is very clear that our leadership will not be standing still.

Donna/Trafford, Gvardiol, Khusanov, Reis, Bah, Echeverri, Foden, Cherki, Doku, Savinho, Nypan, Mukasa, Heskey, Mfuni, McAidoo.

That is a crop of young talent among the very best in the world.
We are planning for now and the future.
The unbroken success we have had is freakish and it is done.
We will return, I am certain of it.

Bobb too. Not sure on the age of Gonzalez.

everyone seems to assume we cannot fix any problems we might have in January. They also seem to be assuming that. We need a load of wingers on top of replacing the players that will leave, next summer e.g Stones, Bernardo, Ake, Kovacic some of which have already been replaced but by players out on loan.

I am sure we can be back with RB and midfielder if Savinho and Doku step up

Confused it’s always been said that our wage will was under control very incentive linked yet this window everyone is saying our players are paid too much won’t leave we have messed up etc which is it

Players we valued were paid as such. We no longer want them, so their wages are deemed too high.

It is just the passage of time and a new direction.

I like your optimism but there's no guarantee that a large chunk of those players you've mentioned (and others) will be a success. Some could well drift away, be sold at a profit or released etc. Let's hope they do but history generally tells us a different tale.
