there's not that much that can be said at the short notice there was. Referring it to the ethics commissioner is obviously the right thing to do, and will doubtless reply quite quickly.

I thought she was ineffective as usual.

yeah I agree but even at short notice if you want to be a leader you have to think on your feet - even Sunak was able to do that.

Overall her days are numbered - more is coming out about the oft repeated lie about the offer from Stanford for a course that never existed. I did think Jenrick would launch an attack immediately the Party constitution allowed it but I think she will be left alone until they are humiliated in the local elections - no new leader wants to take up the role and face that within months

The party wouldn't forgive him for doing it in conference month. Easier to let her stumble through it.

Just think, all those people are part of previous governments who absolutely wrecked the country. Some have already lost their seats while others are shitting it that they will lose theirs, so look to secure their lucrative roles with a party that they believe will keep them in.

I hope the constituents hold them to account and each and every one of them fail to gain/lose their seat. There are some absolutely horrendous people joking Reform from the Tories, and the Tories are probably better off for it.
 
Two things here - first it could well be Mone and her involvement in the PPE scandal that brings them down with her pure scorn and secondly Badenoch doesn't understand the Peerage system. As a life Peer you can not resign from or hand back your gong - hereditary Peers can but only in a limited window of time after succession

Badenoch is abject, but I think you're being a little harsh. There's Liz Truss for starters!

But Johnson far and away worst of all in my lifetime and indeed of all time IMO. Didn't just drag his own party down, but the whole of UK politics. Truly awful character.

I’m with you on Johnson, who I hope sees jail time after the Covid enquiry concludes. Can add wanksock too, he also has blood on his hands
